ROWE, Craig, a farmer and life-long resident of Wetumpka, Alabama passed unexpectedly on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the age of 59 after a brief illness. Craig is survived by his brother, Joe E. Rowe (Deborah); nephew E. Taylor Rowe; niece, Maggie F. Rowe; and his great niece and great nephew Alaina and Jackson Rowe. He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia L. Rowe and father, Edward H. Rowe. As per Craig's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation in Craig's honor to the Elmore County Food Pantry or the Alabama Cattlemen's Foundation.

The family will receive friends at Gassett Funeral Home from 9:45 - 10:45 Monday, December 11, 2023, followed by graveside services at 11:00 in Pine View Memorial Gardens with Rev. Johnnie Wood officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Shelton Nobles, her parents Jeff and Evie Mae Cothran, siblings John Cothran, Harvey Cothran, Minnie Cothran Owen and Jimmy Cothran, Sister-in-Law Geraldine Rouse, Brother-in-Law Stevie Rouse, Brother-in-Law Billy Nobles and Sister-in-Law Mallie Cothran. She is survived by her Sister-in-Law, Ann Cothran, her Brother-in-Law Hershel Owen, a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and her roommate at Wetumpka Health and Rehab, Ms. Duane Calloway, who has been a great friend in the last few years. She worked at St. Margaret's Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama, for many years as a Medical Assistant, attended many gospel singings with her husband and spent countless evenings and weekends cutting and bailing hay. He is preceded in death by his father, Lockard Hughes; mother, Allie Mae Hughes, sister, Anna Mae Meeks; and brothers, James Hughes, Lockard Hughes, Jr. , Robert Hughes, J. D. Hughes, and Marion Hughes. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janie Mason Hughes; daughter, Debra Miller (Gregg); son Chris Hughes (Ginny); brother, Raymond Hughes; grandchildren, Matthew (Corrie), Kyle (Amanda), Brittany (David), Ashton (Foster), and Elijah; great-grandsons, Rainier and Lawrence; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Benny was of a proud member of the United States Army, serving in Germany from 1954 to 1956. His hobbies were farming, raising cattle, restoring vintage tractors and cars. He loved family vacations at the beach and time with family and friends. He was a hard worker, honest, and loved by so many. He will be missed.
