Throughout her life she remained a true & staunch New Yorker, extremely proud to have never moved away. While she was educated, well read, had a variety of creative and successful career experiences, what she was most proud of was her family! She adored her loving Husband Irving N. Katz who passed on her birthday back on June 22, 2001. He lovingly assigned her D (DOLL) for her middle initial. POUGHKEEPSIE – Anna DiCarlo, 97, passed away peacefully at her home on February 15, 2024. Born in the Bronx on July 31, 1926, Anna was the daughter of the late Luigi and Elizabetta (DiAntonio) Ricci. She was predeceased by her husband Donato DiCarlo in 2008; and her brothers, Joseph Ricci, Ed Ricci, and Nick Ricci. Anna enjoyed gardening and doing crafts. In retirement, she and Dan traveled extensively around the United States in their van, and they visited all the continents. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always had a smile on her face. Her kind demeanor and sweet temperament will be missed by all. Anna is survived by her children, Susan DiCarlo, Charles DiCarlo and his wife Kathie, and Dan DiCarlo and his wife Mercedes; her grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Jonathan, Stephanie, and Daniel; her great-grandson, Griffin; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 12 – 4 pm with a funeral service at 3:30 pm. Louise Dee, age 77, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully in the early hours of February 14 surrounded by her loved ones in Poughkeepsie, NY. Louise was born in Avon-by-the-Sea, New Jersey to her parents Vincent and Pearl Maltese. Louise later moved to Bronx, New York where she met her husband Richard and began a family of her own, eventually moving to Poughkeepsie. A playful soul, Louise found some of her most joyous moments attending Foxwoods bingo gatherings, playing late-night card games, and sneaking away to her son’s video games. She appreciated life’s simple gifts from receiving handmade birthday cards from her grandchildren to attending their softball games. Louise will be remembered for her generosity, hosting countless family holidays and weekend neighborhood camping trips. She never hesitated to welcome people and animals into her home who needed shelter or a warm Thanksgiving dinner. Louise is survived by her husband, Richard Dee; her children, Tina Basso and husband Gary, Ricky Dee and wife Ingrid, and Christopher Dee and partner Chrystal; and her grandchildren, Toni-Ann, Joseph, Adam, Isabella, and Paytyn. William “Bill” Leon Groth, 55, of Poughkeepsie, NY, died Sunday, February 11, 2024.Bill was born in Spring Valley, NY on May 19, 1968. He spent his early years living in New City, NY before relocating with his family to Poughkeepsie in 1970. Bill was a talented carpenter by trade and a valued member of the Local 279 Carpenters Union. He spent over 35 years working on both residential and commercial jobs ranging from building houses to hospitals and even helping to construct grandstands for the US Open golf tournament. He was also relied on by his family and friends to assist in jobs around their own homes.Bill’s parents, Ed and Lorraine, predeceased him but he is survived by his 3 brothers: Michael and his wife Sandy of Aurora, NY; Jeff and his wife Jen of Burnt Hills, NY; Kevin and his wife Lori of Southington, CT; and his 9 nieces and nephews: Michaela, Monica, John, Daniel, Cora, Emma, Catherine, Caleb and Olivia, all of whom he loved deeply. In his spare time, Bill loved golfing, football, the outdoors, and playing games with his family. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Campo) Trapani and they resided in Milton, NY.Having worked on the family farm in her younger years, Mary left to work at Schatz Federal Bearing in Poughkeepsie during the 1960's as well as the Agway Energy Products in Milton, NY until her retirement in the 1990's.Mary became an avid NY Mets fan after her beloved NY Giants left for San Francisco and enjoyed attending spring training with her husband Ben.Survivors include her daughter Helen Polizzi and John Rutigliano (Marlboro, NY ) and her son Joseph and his wife Virginia (Blossvale, NY) Three beautiful grandaughters, Monica and husband Brandon Bjerke (Hudson, NY) Nicole and husband Jionni Lavalle (Florham Park, NJ) and Kaitlyn Jerminario (Jim Thorpe, PA). She was blessed with four great grandchilden, Lorenzo, Giovanna and Angelo Lavalle and Beatrix Bjerke. Patricia McCracken Warren lost her battle with cancer and passed away on February 10, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center at the age of 55. She was born in the Bronx, NY on September 4, 1968, to the late Edmund and Dolores (Wolski) McCracken. On June 23, 2018, she married her best friend and loving husband Robert Warren. Patricia worked at Trinity Pawling School for 15 years as the school’s receptionist. Patty helped all colleagues and students with a bright smile and positive attitude. To quote Headmaster William Taylor “Patty was, in many ways, the face and voice of Trinity-Pawling until she retired in 2019. Patty welcomed all with a bright smile, a cheerful voice, and a unbiquitable positive attitude”. Patty loved riding motorcycles, going out for Mexican food and margaritas, and enjoyed anything spicy. She always had a smile on her face, and would do anything for anyone. Her positive attitude and big smile was contagious. Patricia had the unique ability to turn something dismal into something bright and her family states that “Once you met her, you knew you met someone very special.” Even during her own struggles, Patricia was always concerned with others and wanted to help her loved ones out in any way possible. The “STAR” of the family, Patricia will always be remembered for her strength, bright smile and positive attitude. She never gave up hope! Patty is survived by her beloved husband Robert (Cali) Warren, her son William O’Donnell and other children, Striana Lynn Warren, Robert Michael Warren, Hunter Jared Warren, and Amber Renee Warren; her grandsons Sebastian and Stefan; her siblings: Linda Improta, Alice Sgroi, Lorraine Falcone, Donna Yeaw, Roy Wiegmann, and Chris Wiegmann; and one of her best friends Jeanette Haviland, who has been her support system and rock though all of this; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Patricia was also predeceased by her brother Eddie McCracken. Patricia’s family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the nurses and staff at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, for their kindness and care, especially Lacey and Jenna. Our truly loved Regina Marie Watts entered eternal rest at the age of 73 on the early morning of Tuesday February 6, 2024 peacefully at home in Poughkeepsie NY. Regina Marie was born on November 22,1953 to the late Horace Hinton and Anna Mae Twyman-Johnson in Poughkeepsie NY. Regina married Tyrone Watts in Baltimore, Maryland in1971. She worked at Hudson River Psychiatric Center and Letchworth until she retired in 1989. Regina could make anything out of nothing. She was an avid seamstress who also loved to crochet and do arts and crafts. Regina enjoyed shopping, cooking different meals, and spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Regina opened her heart and home to many children as a foster mother for fifteen years. Regina proved herself to be a true fighter. Only given months to live by physicians, Regina battled and fought cancer for three years. Regina was loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Left to Cherish her memories are daughter Tylise Watts of Poughkeepsie, three grandchildren Zakiya, Eric Jr, and Za’rae; one Great granddaughter Za’riah all of Poughkeepsie NY. Yvette was born in Manhattan on October 20, 1968, the daughter of the late William Marrero and Rosalina Rivera. She was married to Victor Rivera who predeceased her in 2003. Yvette had many jobs in her life, among them she worked for Con Edison. Yvette is survived by her children, Barry A. Gutierrez, Crystal Rivera and Victor A. Rivera; her grandchildren, Gianna L. Gonzales and Ariya E. Montiel; her sister, Carmen Marrero; close family Mark Davis and her extended family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, William “Papo” Marrero.
