Constance Upshaw Kellogg Constance was born Oct. 24,1920 to Allen and Birthel Upshaw in Beadshaw, Texas. In 1927 the family moved to Idaho. Constance graduated from Blackfoot Idaho High School in 1939. After training at So. Branch University of Moscow Idaho in Pocatello, she taught at the Irving grade school in Blackfoot. Connie later went to Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri. It was there that she met Carlton Kellogg. They graduated from C. B. I. in 1948 and were married in a lovely little church in Blackfoot, Idaho on June 7th. They kept busy with ministerial work and were blessed with a baby girl, they named Yvonne in April,1949 in Bath, New York. In 1952 they returned to Albion, Idaho where Carl became the pastor of a church and Connie taught the elementary students in a one room schoolhouse. The family decided to move to the Boise area in 1956 and Connie accepted a teaching position with the Boise School District. During this time she and Carlton decided to continue their education. They attended summer school and night classes at Northwest Nazarene College and College of Idaho and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in 1962. She continued teaching in the Boise School District until retirement in 1982. Connie taught at Whitney elementary school for a majority of her 26 years of teaching in the Boise School District. Connie decided to move to Nampa in 2005 to be near her daughter, Yvonne and husband Gary, and some of her grandchildren. Connie loved her big yellow cat, Tiger who was a faithful companion. She also had a beautiful yard and did all the yard work- except she didn't do the mowing, NEVER!! Connie was a faithful member of Calvary Assembly of God church in Boise for many years. When she moved to Nampa, Idaho she became a faithful member of Christian Faith Center. Connie went home to be with her Lord and Savior December 23,2022 in Boise, Idaho. God blessed her with an active mind and spirit till the very end. Over the last few years Connie has had some amazing care workers that helped her remain in her home as long as possible. Thank you Jan Hobbs, Keystone Hospice, and Homewatch Care. She was preceded in death by her parents Birthel and Allen Upshaw, husband Carlton, and daughter Yvonne. Connie is survived by Gary and Debbie Wilson, Kimberly and Troy Amyx, Kevin and Angela Wilson, Kristopher and Cheryl Wilson, Kendall and Angela Wilson, Karlton Wilson and Maria, Karolyn Wilson and Howey, Katie and James Killinger, Kaleb and Rickie Wilson, 31 grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, January 6th at Cloverdale Funeral Home, viewing will begin at 1PM with services to follow at 1:30PM. Interment will follow at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens directly after service.
