Cono Zozzaro Obituary

Zozzaro, Cono, age 88, of Hawthorne, on Monday, May 8, 2023. Born in Sassano, Italy, Cono immigrated to the United States at the age of 21. He settled in Jersey City and lived there until moving to Hawthorne five years ago. He worked as a forklift operator for Ellison Terminals and E. S. Sutton before retiring and was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Woodland Park. Cono was the beloved husband of Michelina (nee: Capuano) Zozzaro. Loving father of Joseph Zozzaro and his wife Danielle of Brick, Antonio Zozzaro and his wife Elmira of Jersey City and Rosa Messina and her husband John of Waldwick. Dear grandfather of Joseph Zozzaro, Lauren Zozzaro and her husband Matthew Neumann, Daniel Messina, Gabriella Messina, Kamila Zozzaro and Marco Zozzaro. Dearest great-grandfather of Aidan Kiefer, Skylar Neumann and William Neumann. Cono was predeceased by his brothers Carmen and Domenic and his sister Mina. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave. , Hawthorne. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park and Cemetery in Union. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8pm.
