"On January 13th, 2024, Maurice Joseph L'Abbé, a Canadian ice hockey player, passed away in Frisco, Texas. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on August 12th, 1947, L'Abbé briefly played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Chicago Black Hawks during the 1972–73 season. Drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks in 1964, L'Abbé spent several years honing his skills in various minor leagues before getting his chance in the NHL. Despite his talent, his NHL career consisted of only five games, during which he contributed one assist. He then returned to the minors, where he continued playing for the Dallas Black Hawks of the Central Hockey League until his retirement in 1976. L'Abbé's passion for hockey was evident throughout his career, even though his time in the NHL was brief. His dedication to the sport and his perseverance in pursuing his dream of playing at the highest level left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Fans and fellow players alike will remember his legacy as a hardworking athlete and a beloved member of the hockey community. "

She enjoyed movies and taking walks. She was a good sister of 8 siblings.She is survived by her son, PJ Rodriguez; daughters: Christy Myers and husband Derek, Bailey Nichols and husband David; siblings: Marina Rubio and husband Leonard, Maria Acevedo, Cecil Ortega and spouse Javier Mancha, Arthur Ortega and wife Mary, Tony Ortega and wife Carmela, Shirley Ortega, Dakota Ortega, Bobby Bailey Ortega; 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Margarita was preceded in death by her parents Narciso and Frances Ortega; husband, Joe Sanchez; daughters: Hope Rodriguez and Stephanie Rodriguez.There will be a funeral service at 1:00 pm on Friday March 2, 2024 at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel in Caddo Mills. Don McNicoll, age 72, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024.  He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on August 20, 1951, to Suzanne (Nelson) and John Bruce McNicoll.  Don had a successful career in the IT industry.  He married the love of his life, Catherine Ann “Cathy” MacDougall on October 14, 1972, in Montreal, and they were blessed with two children.  Don enjoyed travelling the world, horseback riding, reading, and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather.  Don will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.Don is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy McNicoll; his son, Matt McNicoll and his wife, Kari of Frisco; his daughter, Erin Smith and her husband, Corey of Frisco; his grandchildren, Connor McNicoll, Ryan McNicoll, Tyler Smith, and Logan Smith; his sister, Nancy Williams; and his niece, Erica Williams.He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Suzanne McNicoll.A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.

On March 8, 1957, William married Freddie Mae Budde in Houston, Texas. Bill lived most of his life in Houston, Texas; Tucson, Arizona; and Frisco.Bill graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1951. He was a stockbroker, a successful businessman in many different ventures and a real estate investor.Bill was a devoted husband; a loving father, grandfather and brother; a veteran, and a child of God. He was a golfer, a fisherman, a connoisseur of fine art and antiques who discovered an Italian masterpiece — yet chose to live a remarkably simple life. He loved to laugh and rooted for the underdog in all areas of life. He trusted Jesus to reunite him with his beloved wife, Freddie, of 60 years.Bill is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Budde Averill and her husband, Jerry of Kandern, Germany; his son, William (Bill) Pentak and his wife, Jodie of Frisco, Texas; his grandson, William Marshall Pentak of Frisco, Texas; his granddaughter, Anna Lee Haab and her husband Jacob of Kona, Hawaii; his sister, Billie Mae Brewer of Frisco, Texas also originally from Houston.Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Freddie Pentak; and his parents, Ida and William Pentak.A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023, on Thursday, February 22, 2024, beginning at 2:00 PM. Linda Louise Jones, age 79, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.  She was born in Athens, Texas, on September 21, 1944, to Lillian Irene (McIntire) and Delbert Lorne Cantrell.  Linda attended college and had a successful career working  as a supervisor in the oil and gas industry, including twenty-eight years at Halliburton.  She loved crafting, collecting antiques, decorating, cooking, planting flowers, playing the piano, and spending time with family. Linda was a wonderful mother, sister, and aunt.  She was dearly loved and will be missed by all those who knew her.Linda is survived by her beloved daughter, Kimberley Jones and her husband, James Alan Smith of Frisco; her brothers, D.L. Cantrell of Denton and Jerry Cantrell and his wife, Becky of Frisco; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Lillian Cantrell, and her sisters, Delores Freeman and Wanda Daniels.The funeral service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation beginning one hour prior, at 1:00 p.m.  Interment at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family. He leaves behind his wife of 69 years Phyllis Beggs; his son Michael Beggs and daughter Brenda McConnell, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Harvey will be laid to rest at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
