Col Pieszak Obituary

Frank Pieszak was an amazing man and he accomplished so much during his 93 years here on earth. He was born in Muncie, Indiana but spent his childhood on the south side of Chicago, graduating from South Shore High School in 1947. He subsequently joined the Army doing a 2-year stint before returning to college where he earned a degree in business at Lake Forest College. He married Anne Currie in 1954 and raised two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Lisa. Frank joined the Army Reserve in 1953 and graduated from Officers Candidate School at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma with the rank of 2nd Lt. Col. He loved the military, and during his 33-year career in the Reserves, earned the rank of Colonel. He retired from the Military at Ft. Sheridan in 1985. Frank's happiest retirement days were yet to come when he and his wife, Patricia, moved from Chicago to the beautiful Hill Country town of Boerne, Texas in 1995. They built a spacious ranch home, raised his beloved longhorns, opened the Eagle Ranch Guest House and served on the Boerne Convention & Visitors Bureau from 2009 to 2017. He even found time to embrace his love of travel when not providing funnel cakes at various events around Boerne. During his lifetime, he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, a Lifetime member of the Military Officers Association of America, the Reserve Officers Association, and was inducted into the Ft. Sill Hall of Fame in 1990. Frank will be remembered for his quick wit, his awesome sense of humor and his loving and entrepreneurial spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Devonna and Frank Pieszak, his sister Devonna, and his first wife, Ann Currie. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his two daughters, Jennifer (Barry), and Lisa, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
