Cody Vanderhoff Obituary

Cody Vanderhoff, age 31, of Gilmore City, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at home in Gilmore City, Iowa. Cody Alan Vincent Vanderhoff was born January 16, 1992, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Angela (Nelson) Vanderhoff and Michael Vanderhoff. Cody graduated from Twin River Valley High School in 2010. Following graduation, he settled in Gilmore City and worked as a farm hand for Naeve Family Farms. Cody then worked at Calcium Products in Fort Dodge where he eventually became a supervisor. A job he enjoyed and held for several years. As a kid, Cody loved being outside. You could find him climbing a tree, playing in the sandbox, or riding his bike. In high school, he enjoyed playing football. Cody was an avid outdoorsman. He loved nature, fishing and hunting, especially duck hunting. He enjoyed grilling year around with his favorite smoker, which he nicknamed "Brutis. " Cody was an avid music lover. He listened to all types of music and enjoyed sharing songs with his mother and sister. Cody especially loved spending time with his family, friends and his bloodhound, Chubbs. Survivors include his mother, Angela Vanderhoff of Gilmore City; his father, Michael Vanderhoff of Gilmore City; his sister, Paige Vanderhoff of Gilmore City; his grandpa, Larry Nelson of Rolfe; his grandma, Linda Kaufman of Gilmore City, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Cody was preceded in death by his grandma, Marlene Fridolfson, and grandfathers, Pat Vanderhoff and LeRoy Kaufman.
