Clyde Deckard Obituary

Clyde G. Deckard, 83, of Unionville, Indiana passed away at the Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana on Saturday, April 22, 2023. He was born in Sanders, Indiana on October 15, 1939. Clyde was retired from Sears, and had a tractor repair shop after retirement. He was a member of Little Union Baptist Church, where he was known as "The Candy Man. " They will miss him! Clyde is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sherry (Fleener) Deckard, four sons, Ivan, Steven (Bridget), James (Adrianne), and Philip (Aubray), two daughters, Michele Deckard (Bob Cornwell), and Kristina Deckard (Dave Livinghouse), as well as 17 grandchildren, Haley and Chad Tewell, Taylor Deckard and Toni Deckard, Sara and Ron Haynes, Nikki and Scott Simon, Liz Lyons and Jeremiah Allen, Jenna and Jon Eickman, Jess and Ying Livinghouse, Tevin Trego, Jay Deckard, Melissa and David Peterson, Ryleigh and Kyle Bolin, McKenna and Matt Wolfe, Stone and Erin Deckard, Emilia Deckard, and Wrenna Deckard, 23 great-grandchildren, one sister Patricia Scott, sisters-in-law, Iana Fleener, and Melinda Davis, brother-in-law Scott Davis, and many nieces and nephews. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Deckard, and Gayle and Robert McKee, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ivan and Mary Fleener, brother, Jerry Deckard, sisters, Shirley Deckard, Mona Sego, and Donnetta Deckard, and beloved granddaughter Hillary Deckard. Clyde will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for Clyde will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Little Union Baptist Church, 5511 N. Brummetts Creek Road, Bloomington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at Little Union Baptist Church with burial to follow at Little Union Cemetery. Grant Quimby will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Union Baptist Church in Clyde's name.
