Clotilde Morales Zarate aka "Tila", passed away on Monday, April 24th, 2023 in Blythe CA at the age of 91. Clotilde was born in Longmont, Texas on August 30th, 1931 to Pedro and Ededina Morales. After both of her parents passed away, she was raised at the age of 8 years old by her brother Abel. She attended school up till the 3rd grade. Clotilde married Francisco G. Zarate at the age of 13 in 1944. They both worked in the cotton fields for most of their lives. She had two children, Lily and Tommy, who passed away at a young age in Texas. She then had 5 boys, Francisco Jr. , Luis, Florentino, Rocky, Abel, and two girls, Hermina and Aurora. Due to being a seasonal worker, Clotilde traveled for work. She left Texas to stay in Casa Grande AZ. As she continued her field work, she then had two more girls, Lily and Catalina. She also raised Francis and Johnny as her own. Clotilde moved to El Centro and finally to Blythe, CA. where she lived most of her life. She became a widow on November 11th, 2009. Clotilde had love for sewing, attending dances, cooked homemade tortillas and beans. She loved to garden, collect "nick-nacks", collecting frog items, and dressing as a cowgirl. Her favorite perfume was "Red". She always kept her furniture polished. Her favorite music was "Tex-Mex". She enjoyed family gatherings and would rather stay at home then to go out. She always welcomed everyone into her home with open arms. She was a talker, she would talk for hours on the phone with family members, mainly her sister Aurora and cousin Rebecca from Texas. Clotilde was a Godly woman. She was Catholic and cherished the Virgin Mary. She loved all of her children and grandchildren deeply and enjoyed every moment she was able to spend with them. Clotilde will be remembered by her chile plant, her different nail polish, the cartoon character Betty Boop, her singing "Tiringy-Tiringy" song to her dog chiquita, trying to speak English in a funny way, her colorful blankets her initials C. Z. on all of her house items, her medicated creams, rubbing alcohol and home remedies. Clotilde has left many wonderful and happy memories for all of us to remember, She will always be known as Grandma from the West! Clotidle is proceeded in death by her parents Pedro and Ededina, husband Francisco, brother Abel and sister Aurora, along with her children Francisco Jr, Hermina, and Lily. She is survived by her children Luis, Abel, Florentino, Rocky, Aurora, Catalina, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on May 18th, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Blythe, CA. Funeral Services will be held on May 19th, 2023 at 10:00am at Frye Chapel with committal services following at the Palo Verde Cemetery. Family and friends are invited for a lunch gathering at the VFW 148 N 1st Blythe, CA 92225 at 1:00pm.
