Clifford L. Conrad, 90, passed away at his home on Sept. 30, 2023. He was born on Aug. 18, 1933, to Vernon and Lena Conrad of Lowdell and was also preceded in death by his sister Wilma and her husband Tom Lough. Cliff was married to his wife Ruth for 68 years. He often said she was the best wife, mother and grandmother. He was a gifted mechanic who dedicated many years at DuPont before retiring in 1985. Cliff had a passion for music and taking care of his family-built home in Rockport, but he most of all had an immense love for his four daughters, six granddaughters, one grandson and seven great-grandchildren. Those who were lucky enough to know Cliff were surrounded with joy and laughter any time he was around. He joked that although he loved music, the only thing he could play was the radio. He is survived by his wife Ruth, daughters Peggy (Roger) Howard of Charlotte, N. C. ; Kathy (Robert) Heflin of Parkersburg; Sandy (Roger) Deem of Charlotte, N. C. ; Kelly (Chris) Jones of Rockport; his "favorite" grandson Adam (Jessica) Heflin of Morgantown and their children Joseph, Mila, Charles and Brooks; Morgan (Jeremy) Parsons of Parkersburg and their children Jack and Maren; Casey (James) Benson of Huntington and their son Jace; Meredith Deem of Charlotte, N. C. ; Candice (Steve) Black of Parkersburg; Laura (Matthew) Welch of Houston, Texas; and Zoe (Jake Charles) Heflin of New South Wales, Australia. To know Cliff was to love him and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p. m. on Nov. 4 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. , South Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m. prior to the service.
