Cleota Shaw-Liston Obituary

Cleota "Bette" Marie Shaw-Liston, 69, Rapid City, SD, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2023. Bette was born at home on August 3, 1953. She was delivered by her father, Clement Shaw, Sr. Bette was known for many things, most notably, her caring, kindness, and compassion for others. She would give her last dollar or the shirt off her back if she thought it would help. In her late 20s/early 30s, she met her husband, Kenneth R. Liston. They got married soon after. Bette moved to Rapid City, SD in 1987 where she lived out the rest of her life. When she wasn't spending time with family or friends, she could be found at the casinos or bingo hall. She had love for everyone, especially her grandkids. When Bette would get visits from Ohitika Shaw, Marilyn Hoof, and Ohitika Hoof, she would feel 10 feet tall. Grateful for the time they got together are her son, Jesse Shaw-Liston, and numerous family and friends. She is greeted on the other side by Clement Shaw Sr. , Henrietta Shaw, Clement Shaw Jr. , Wayne Shaw, and Kenneth R. Shaw-Liston. A private viewing is being is being held on Thursday, April 13 at 3 p. m. Everyone is welcome to come and be in the parking lot during that time to say goodbye.
