Claude Wayne Jones, age 79 of Lovelady, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He was born October 17, 1943 in Houston to parents, Claude Jones and Gladys Dorene Whitehead Jones. He was a graduate of Lovelady High School and a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era. Claude Wayne worked for TDCJ Agriculture for 35 years as well as being a rancher. He was a devoted husband and father and always put his family first. Claude Wayne made sure that not just his sons had everything they needed for their activities, but he would also make sure other less fortunate children also had what they needed to be involved. He was an Elder at the Trinity Church of Christ and was also involved with the youth of the community, from little league, 4H, & FFA amongst other activities. Claude Wayne was always willing and ready to lend a hand to anyone who may have needed it. Claude Wayne is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlotte Ann Jones of Lovelady; son, Randy Wayne Jones of Lovelady; sister Joylea LaRue of Lovelady; sister-in-law Betty Collier of Lovelady; brother-in-law, John Collier and wife Betty of Hope Arkansas; grandsons, Justin Wayne Jones and Caleb William Jones of San Antonio, Carson Paul Jones of Athens; granddaughter, Kinley Dawn Jones of Athens; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by, mother Gladys Dorene Whitehead Jones; son Glenn Paul Jones. Memorial services for Claude Wayne Jones will be held at 11:00 a. m. Rev. Robert H. "Bob" Lacey, age 88, of Crockett passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in the Winfield Nursing Center. Brother Bob was born August 6, 1935 in Alamagordo, New Mexico to parents, Archie Lacey and Marie Daugherty Lacey. Bob met Evelyn Trammell and they married May 29, 1957. He began his ministry at the age of 16 in New Mexico then full time at a church in Muleshoe from there to Clovis, NM then to Gainesville. Brother Bob started his evangelistic and missionary work moving to Kenya, Africa for 3 years. After returning, he pastored the Huntington First Baptist Church then became a full time evangelist for 3 years afterward pastoring Northside First Baptist Church in Hobbs, New Mexico and Hilcrest Baptist Church. He preached at Lovelady Antioch Baptist Church for many years then finished his ministry at New Energy Baptist Church. It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brent Dorman, a devoted husband and son, a beloved rancher, dedicated horse trainer, and cherished member of the community. Brent passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023, at the age of 49, in Houston, Texas to be welcomed into glory by his heavenly father. Brent was born on September 18, 1974, in Crockett, Texas, to his loving parents, Larry and Dale (Luedke) Dorman. He was a graduate of Centerville High School. As a lifelong resident of Leon County, Brent embraced the values of hard work, integrity, and a genuine love for his land and animals. Known for his expertise in ranching and horse training, Brent shared his passion and knowledge with his father, forging a remarkable partnership and bond in their shared profession. Together, they worked horses and cows throughout the years. They were both well known for their remarkable ability to understand their animals. Beyond his work, Brent had an amazing kind gentle spirit and a great sense of humor. Fondly, he would enjoy looking at pictures of cows, guns, and deer, relishing in the memories. In his younger days, Brent found solace and joy in fishing, often spending hours on the water from sunup to sundown. Brent's heart belonged to his large family, especially his children. Although circumstances limited their time together, his love for his son, Kyle, and his daughter, Kadence, knew no bounds. He held them dear to his heart. Another passion that brought Brent immense happiness was his love for music. As a member of the Cowboy Church of Leon County, he found solace while singing in the band through the melodies and the fellowship it brought. His voice touched the hearts of many, resonating with the shared faith and values of his beloved community. Brent will be fondly remembered for his compassionate spirit, his dedication to his family and his work, and his love for his cherished community. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, kindness, and a tremendous love for life. Brent was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Gerald & Dorothy Luedke; paternal grandparents, Kermit & Leila Dorman and uncles, Marcus Dorman, George Dorman and Ed Phillips. Brent is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Dorman of Centerville; parents, Larry & Dale Dorman of Centerville; brother & sister-in-law, Bart & Sherry Dorman of Madisonville; children, Kyle Dorman of Arizona and Kadence Dorman of Arizona; step daughters, Hailee Aguilar of League City and Saidee Castillo of Sante Fe; grandchildren, Clayton & Corinne Aguilar; niece, Maggie Reid; nephew, Marcus Dorman; great niece & nephew, Larryn & Laith Reid; and cherished friend, Michael Weaver; as well as a host of special extended family and friends. A funeral service celebrating Brent's remarkable life, will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11 A. M. at the Cowboy Church of Leon County, Centerville, Texas. Pastor of the church, Tuffy Loftin, will officiate the service, assisted by Jesse DeSpain and Clay Wells. Family, friends, and community members are welcome to pay their respects and honor his memory. A time of visitation will be held at the Cowboy Church of Leon County Friday, November 10, 2023 from 6 P. M. to 8 P. M. where friends can gather to share their memories and offer their condolences. Brent will be laid to rest in North Creek Cemetery in the Nineveh Community of Leon County, Texas. Debra Lou Currie, 65, of Crockett, TX passed away on Friday June 16, 2023. She was born in Crockett, TX October 14, 1957, to Ross Cleveland Richardson Sr. and the late Mattie Lou Nick Richardson. Debra spent time helping others in the community as a beautician making sure that everyone she served looked and felt their best for a variety of occasions such as birthdays, weddings, graduations, proms, holidays, and other events. Her favorite color was purple, she loved her flowers and plants, her favorite was Hydrangeas. She loved watching old Westerns, Hallmark, Lifetime, and Cooking Channels. She also loved her Romance Novels. . . Never saw her without one. In her other hand she would likely have a camera as she loved to take photos of family, friends, and nature. She loved to cook and was famous for her home-made rolls and enormous broiler pan full of Gumbo and many other favorites at family or community get-togethers. Debra is survived by sisters Sondra Davis of Rusk, TX, Sandra Johnston and husband Ralph of Rusk, TX, Arlene Benge and husband Eric of Bella Vista, AR, Kelly Pyle and husband Judd of Belott, TX, and Jo Neen Richardson of Crockett, TX, and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
