"Clarence L. Abney, Jr. , 92, of Bald Knob, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. He was born October 29, 1930 in Stuttgart, Arkansas a son of the late Clarence and Minnie Abney. Mr. Abney was a devoted Christian and spent his life witnessing and leading others to the Lord. He was always very concerned with his friends and family's salvation. Clarence spent many years employed as a truck driver and, in his younger years, enjoyed fishing. He is survived by 2 daughters, Pamela Merritt and Patricia Wright; a sister, Narsie Abney; grandchildren, Lori Wright, Lesa Wright, Jeff Wright, Jennifer Coffey, Brent Fritts, Kellie Fritts McAnally, Michael Johnston, Bealena Johnston, Andrea Cress and Michele Summers; great-grandchildren, Logan Fritts, Breana Dumbrell, Shelby Fritts, Macie Whitney, Sailor Fritts, Nathan Grindahl, Brentley Fritts, Madison Johnston, Kayla Walls, Jordin Cress, Ayden Cress and Evan and Avery Heath. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Abney; daughter, Sue Summers; grandchildren, Raeann Summers, Danyele Summers, Shane Fritts and Braden Wright. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. at the Velvet Ridge Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. Doug Swindle officiating. "On November 3rd, 2023, Wanda Emde, loving wife and mother, passed away at the home of her daughter's in Searcy. Wanda Mary Lou Munger was born to Elvin and Katy (White) Munger in McFadden, Arkansas on September 27, 1934. Wanda was the eldest daughter of five siblings living in and around the Hickory Ridge area. While in the 9th grade she moved to Bald Knob and graduated from BK High School in 1952. Wanda married Billy Wayne Emde on December 26, 1952, after a week of dating; Billy was her mother's pick. They began married life in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where Bill was stationed while serving in the Navy. After Bill's term of service ended, they moved back home to Bald Knob, where Wanda spent the majority of her life. In fact, she spent 62yrs at her home on Collison St. Wanda spent the last eight years of her life in Searcy, most of which were as a resident at Harding Place. Wanda and Bill's home was a source of encouragement and support for countless children and adults over the years. They were a team in almost everything they did. They both actively served their community and were involved in numerous clubs, committees, service projects and good works. They were on the board of the Shady Grove Cemetery and worked many hours for the betterment of the cemetery. Wanda epitomized a Christian homemaker. After raising their daughters, they opened their home to a Japanese exchange student and a teacher from Thailand, both of which resided with them for the duration of a school year. After their retirement they enjoyed several Amtrak trips together. Wanda was a girl scout in her youth, which in turn led her to serve as a girl scout leader for 50 years. During her years of service with the girl scouts Wanda received several awards and was inducted into the Ouachita Girl Scout Council "Hall of Fame". She was a charter member of the Bald Knob Extension Homemakers club that was founded in 1958. While being a part of Homemakers Wanda served in many offices and received numerous awards for her works. Wanda was awarded the "Citizen of Year" by the Bald Knob Chamber of Commerce in 1988. Furthering her good works Wanda established three scholarships to help students in obtaining higher education. The "Billy Wayne Emde Scholarship" and "Class of 1952 Scholarship" at Bald Knob High School and the "Single Parent Scholarship" for people in White County. She was very strong in her faith, attending the Bald Knob Church of Christ for over 68 years, where she taught bible class to children for generations. Wanda was an avid collector of Santas, she spent 50 years and amassed around 1,658 over the course of those years. During the holiday season, she would display them all throughout her home and invite the community to tour her home to see the collection. When Wanda moved to Searcy she donated a majority of her Santa collection to Holiday of Lights in Searcy. They are displayed at the Carmichael Center during the holiday season. This year some Santas will also be displayed at the state capital. Wanda loved and enjoyed being called "The Santa Lady". During the latter part of her life Wanda's eye site began to decline until she became completely blind. With the help of her loving husband Bill and her devoted sister, Elva, she was still able to continue with her many projects. Even with her limitation, Wanda was a lady of service. Wanda is survived by two daughters: Kathy Lawson (Gary) and Joy Jernigan (Joe) all of Searcy. Grandchildren: Christian Lawson and Raelyn Wiirre (Nathan). Great-grandsons are Collin Lawson, Adam and Nicholas Wiirre. A sister Elva Harper (who lived with and helped her after Bill passed away) and a brother, Samuel Munger. As well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends that she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by Billy Emde, her husband of 57 years, granddaughter in-law Lisa Lawson, great grandson Ryder Lawson, her brothers W. C. "Dub" and George Munger. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 p. m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:00 a. m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob with Gary Lawson and Jason Henley officiating. "Ila Pearlene Elliott Randall, 86, of Bald Knob, Arkansas departed this life on Friday, October 27, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born July 10, 1937, in Bald Knob, Arkansas to the late Bill and Mollie Elliot. Pearlene was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was "Nana" to not only her grandchildren but to anyone that knew her. Pearlene loved with an open heart and cared deeply for all those around her. She was an employee with Walmart for many years where she done various jobs within the company. She was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church in Bald Knob. Pearlene enjoyed praising her Lord through singing and was a member of the Novettes choir group. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and playing the piano when she was able. Pearlene's favorite place to be was at the ball park watching her grandbabies play baseball and softball. Above all she loved her family and getting to spend time with them. She is survived by her children, Rob Randall and Elaine Davidson, her grandchildren, Hannah (Ethan) Evans, Stephanie Randall, Autumn (Rudy) Morales, Brennan Davidson, Steven Randall, and Fallon Randall, one great grandson, Romeo Morales, and her close friends, Angela Smith, Jeanette Wallace, and Gerald Smith, she is also survived by a host of extended family, friends, and all of her bonus grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Steve Randall, her sister, Aleece Hendrix, and her stepfather, Woodrow Crosby. Mrs. Mable Christine Dehorn Fultz was the wife of the late Pastor Herman Fultz. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church as a faithful member. She later joined Prince of Peace Baptist Church to continue to support the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a faithful member and Woman of God. . She was President of the Missionary Society, Choir Director, and Evangelist. She was a dutiful Wife and Mother of 7 children with one child deceased named, Frankie. She was an excellent chef/cook. She was an outstanding entrepreneur. As a business owner, she operated her own Cafe and Housing development as alandlord of several homes s he rented to those who wanted or needed a place to stay. "Evelyn Belle Waller, 96, of Bald Knob, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her home. She was born August 26, 1927 in Bald Knob, the daughter of James and Naomia McGowan. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired from General Industries after 41 years of employment. Evelyn was a devoted member of the Liberty Valley Missionary Baptist Church for more than 70 years. She enjoyed cooking and was known for having the "Best Fried Chicken". Evelyn's family was most important to her and she loved hosting big family gatherings. She will be missed by all those honored to know her. She is survived by three children, Margie (Wayne) Sewell of Texarkana, Arkansas, Glenda (Melvin) Watkins of Judsonia, Arkansas, and James (Virgina) Waller of Parrish, Florida; her sister, Jo Stross of Farmington, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Brian (Micki) Sewell, Steven (Jamie) Sewell, Jeff (Stephanie) Watkins, Jessica (Donnie) Martin, Mark Waller, and Joshua (Nicole) Waller; five great grandchildren, Bethani Martin, Ashley (Brandon) Moss, Emily (Hunter) Naramore, Paige Martin, and Chase Martin. "Mary Lee Tucker, 92, of Bald Knob, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 14, 2023. She was born August 15, 1931 in Judsonia, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Robert C. Glenn Jr. and Vada Pierce Glenn. On May 1, 1948, she married the love of her life, Jerry McKinley Tucker and they spent 75 wonderful years together. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family. In her earlier years, she loved music, quilting, and crocheting. Mary had many careers in her life and retired from Bald Knob Schools as a child nutritionist. Mary was a devoted member of New Bethel General Baptist Church in Bald Knob. She will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her. She is survived by; son, Glenn Tucker (Patricia); daughters, Marilyn McFerran (Jerry) and Janet Bewick; grandchildren, Darin Womble (Patricia), Renee Snook (Richard), Mark Staggs (Teri), Michelle Ceal (Greg); great-grandchildren, Nikki Burgess, Scott Burgess, Ryley Ceal, Avery Ceal, Austin Ceal, Lacey Womble and Adeline Womble; great-great-grandchild, McKinley Golden. "Andy Lee Adams, III, 65, of Cabot, formerly of Bald Knob, passed from this life on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at his home. He was born December 8, 1957 in Newport, Arkansas a son of the late Andy Lee and Patricia Ann (Atchison) Adams. As soon as Andy was big enough to drive a tractor, he began working in agriculture. Through the years, he drove truck and worked in pipeline construction but always continued working on the farm between jobs. He was a Teamster for Local 541 for the past several years. In Andy's younger years, he enjoyed bullriding and rodeoing as well as moto cross racing. He was a Christian his entire life and recently, re-dedicated his life in Baptism just 3 weeks ago at Briarwood Baptist Church in Cabot. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gina Adams; 3 children, Brandon Thompson (Erin), Jodi Dicus (Scott) and Ashley Ellis (Luther); grandchildren, Chase, Noah, Keithen, Kylan, Kloe, Lillieanna, Jaxson and Laramie; great-grandchild, Bear; sisters, Kay Adams and Maranda Carroll as well as several nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and a multitude of friends. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a son, Austin Lane Adams and a sister, Shellie Jean Adams. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held prior, beginning at 10:00 a. m. Cremation will follow.
