"Clara H. (Henderson) Sheffield, 89, of Fort Gibson was born February 1, 1934 in Fort Cobb, OK to Alfonso and Cora Mae (Hardesty) Henderson and peacefully passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 in Fort Gibson. Clara attended school at Fort Cobb and graduated from Oktaha High School. She furthered her education and received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting/CPA. Clara married Richard 'Dick' Sheffield on November 8, 1955 at the Fort Gibson First Baptist Church. She started a 15-year career with Optronics and retired in 2004 after working with her husband Dick at Sheffield Farms. Clara was a gifted musician, playing the piano and organ and loved listening to music. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flower beds and being a homemaker. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; a son, David Sheffield; brother, Bob Henderson; sister, Myrtle Henderson; and a son in law, Keith Wright. She is survived by her daughters, Beth Wright of Oktaha, OK, Karen Bouse and husband Brad of Broken Arrow, OK, and Susan Jan Westover and husband Dew of Vernon, TX; grandchildren, Jonathan Moore, Dustin Wright, Jessica Wilcox, Jimmy Westover, Brian Sheffield, Cassie Westover, Keiven Wright and Lindsey Branscum; eight great-grandchildren; extended family and many friends. Viewing for Clara will be 2PM-7PM Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Muskogee. A celebration of Clara's life will be 2PM Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the pavilion at Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Brother Butch Cook officiating. "Charles Michael Reeves, 66-year-old Fort Gibson resident passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Tahlequah, OK. Charles was born December 16, 1956 in Midwest City to W. A. Charles and Betty Joe (Meloy) Reeves. He attended schools in Asher where he graduated. Charles loved to color, was an exceptional drawer, had a collection of Legos and play video games. He also had a love for Western movies and spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by many. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Reeves; and grandparents, Harold and Juanita Meloy. Anneliese Long

Age - 93

"Anneliese Long was born in Karlsruhe, Germany on November 21, 1929, to Karl and Lina Bechtold, and passed away on October 24, 2023. Anneliese was a young girl in Germany during World War II, and she had many stories to tell about the war, including seeing Adolf Hitler face-to-face. She came to America in 1958 on the Queen Elizabeth Ship, and settled in Fithian, IL. She married Carl Pruitt on 10/08/1958, and three months later became a widow due to Carl's death on 1/9/1959. After Carl's death, she returned to Germany for a while, and this is where she met American Solider, Arlie Long of Muskogee, OK. She later returned to Fithian, IL to raise her daughter in America, and she started corresponding with Arlie, who was stationed in San Diego. Arlie hitch-hiked all the way from California to Illinois to sweep her back to California with him. Arlie and Ann finally settled in Muskogee, OK and were married November 2, 1962. She later became an American Naturalization Citizen on June 10, 1980. Arlie was one of 9 children, so their days were spent playing a lot of Pitch Card games with the multitude of brother \u0026amp; sister in-laws, while all the cousins-by-the-dozens played at Grandma Maymie's house. Bar-b-Queuing with her life-long friends Ferris and Ruth Long, and all their family, Kenny, Kathy \u0026amp; Jimmy, Becky, Crystal and Tiffany was a must, and Ann always made the Maggi Salad, because everyone demanded it. Ann loved any kinds of games, and she was always the entertainment committee at Christmas, held her own at Catch Phrase, and she knew how to throw an excellent Easter Egg Hunt. She absolutely loved chocolate, garage sailing, going to the casino, and she never left the house without her jewelry on. She was a member of the American Postal Workers Union Auxiliary and was a candy striper volunteer at Muskogee General Hospital for many years. During the years of the APWU Auxiliary, she made many special friends, where they worked on political campaigns, and she acted as the group's secretary. She and Arlie attended many conventions and danced the night away. Helen Pride of Muskogee is a special and dear friend that recently mailed cards to Ann just about every day, during her time of struggle. Every day was a race to the mailbox, and every card put a smile on her face. She also looked forward to phone calls from Magda from Germany, so she could speak German and keep up on things happening in her hometown. She is preceded in death by Mother, Lina Emma Bechtold; Father, Karl Ludwig Bechtold; Sister, Lotte Diel; Brother, Herbert Bechtold; her husband, Arlie Edward Long; son, Michael Edward Long. Family survivors include her Two daughters, Silvia Leyh of Oakwood, IL, and Mona Koehn (husband, Lewis) of Muskogee, OK; One nephew, Thomas Bechtold of Bavaria, Germany; One Niece, Lia Murr of Karslruhe, Germany; Five grandchildren - Tracy Saults (husband, Mike) of Danville, IL, Gena Lodas (husband, Kevin) of Danville, IL, Brandon Williams of Muskogee, OK, Megan Long of Honolulu, HI, and Brian Long of Greenfield, IN. Four great grandchildren - Alissa Nixon of Champaign, IL, Hailey Bennet of Champaign, IL, Carlie Jo Reitz of Oakwood, IL, and Bradley Williams of Port Charlotte, FL. Danny Borovetz

"Daniel (Danny) Borovetz peacefully passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at the age of 81 in Muskogee, OK. He was born September 29, 1942 in Muskogee and was one of two sons born to Frank and Margaret (O'Keefe) Borovetz. Danny graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1960 and from Northeastern State University in 1964 and was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. He spent several years as an Industrial Arts and Math Teacher at Ramsey Junior High School, Fort Smith, AR and at Alice Robertson Junior High School in Muskogee. In addition to teaching, Danny was a bus driver for the Muskogee Public School system. After teaching, he was a Social Worker at Oklahoma DHS. He left this career to pursue his own business. Danny was a successful owner of Borovetz Automotive for many years. Danny spent many years driving the #24 car at Muskogee's Thunderbird Speedway and other area dirt tracks. His number is now retired at Thunderbird Speedway. Danny enjoyed watching football, racing, college sports and was always reading the Muskogee Phoenix. He always appreciated parades and car shows. Danny was best known for his quick wit, story telling and his endless kindness. He was a longtime member of the Muskogee Lutheran Church and more recent the First United Methodist Church in Muskogee. Danny was active in the community with his businesses as well as being a proud Shriner. He is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer Wrensch (Bob); his granddaughter, Kate Williams; Parker Borovetz (Madison); and their daughter, Charlotte; nieces, Karee and Kandee as well as several cousins and many friends. Chelsea Belisle Seabolt, 34, of Fort Gibson, OK, is now at rest from her decades-long struggle with serious mental illness. She is forever loved and remembered for her courage and strength of heart and her beautiful smile and spirit. All who knew her are heartbroken and forlorn at her passing, yet confident that her peace and rest are now fulfilled in her Savior's embrace. Gary Larson

Age - 84

"Gary Lee Larson was born to the late Hans and Elenore Larson, a United States Army Veteran, and a homemaker, in Elk Horn, Iowa on October 17, 1938. He was immersed in the Christian community that would be his ultimate lifelong support from an early age. He joined the United States Air Force in June 1957 where he graduated high school in Munich, Germany. He later met and married his lifelong love, Alice Marie Dugger, on February 20, 1960, in San Angelo, TX where he was stationed in the Air Force. Gary served twenty years in the United States Air Force as a Petroleum Inspector. He retired from the USAF on September 30th, 1977, with an honorable discharge. He attended the University of Oklahoma for undergraduate studies from 1979-1981 before transferring and graduating from Cameron University with a bachelor's degree in general education with a minor in mathematics. He also graduated from Western Oklahoma State College with a degree in finance. He opened and later operated his own business, Gary Larson Advertising, as well as performing tax and Notary services for those as needed. He then worked for the City of Altus Municipal Airport for fifteen years, after spending a lifetime around airplanes, his own lifelong dream was achieved as he became a pilot in 1996 and a co-owner of the Piloting School. He sold his plane and moved to Muskogee, OK to be near his daughter and first grandchild in July 2004. Gary was a member of the Lion's Club, DAV, VFW, American Legion, American Military Society, Rotary, and the Air Force Sergeant's Association. Gary was blessed with a loving family and raised his two children with patience, discipline, and humility. He taught them to use proper English, the value of education, hard work, rock climbing, fishing, driving skills and often took them on family trips. Gary was a man with exceptional people skills, a skilled mathematician and the one to seek for problem solving, no matter how small. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones. He spent his retirement years enjoying every moment with his grandchildren and those extended family members of the church he called home, LifePoint. Gary is survived by his wife, Alice of the home; his son, David Larson and wife Roberta of Coweta, OK; his daughter, Tracy Cox and husband Micah of Fort Gibson, OK; his grandchildren, Cheyenne Donnely, Caitlyn Cox, Ashlynn Cox, Blake Cox, Jamey Nagy, Dalton Webb and Nicole Webb. He is preceded in death by his son, Ronald Lee Larson; his sisters, Gloria and Marilyn; brothers, Gerald and Darwin Larson; and his parents. Gary's visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Muskogee with family receiving friends from 5PM-7PM. Dorothy Walkingstick

"The world lost an incredibly strong woman, Dorothy Ellen Hulse Walkingstick, 86, Sunday morning, September 10th, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Porta Caeli Hospice House. Dorothy was born April 19th, 1937, in Wheeler, Arkansas and the youngest daughter of Rosa M. Ratliff Hulse and Russell Charles Hulse. Dorothy graduated from Farmington High School in 1954 and began work as a telephone operator at SW Bell Telephone company. In July 1956, she met her future husband, Ralph E. Walkingstick, and they married on January 25th, 1957, before he started college. Dorothy helped support her husband's college education by continuing work with SW Bell and through the birth of two daughters. Upon Ralph's graduation from the University of Arkansas, the young family moved to Dallas, Texas where Ralph began his engineering career. A third daughter was born in 1969 shortly before Ralph accepted a job in Tulsa, Oklahoma and a son was born in 1970. Dorothy continued to care for her growing family and started work for the Jenks Public School System in 1978. She later worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Nursing School at Bacone College in Muskogee. Dorothy was a Camp Fire Girl leader for 15 years, loving the retreats, outdoor cooking, friendships, and fun. Dorothy loved watching and feeding birds, especially hummingbirds. She was a weather watcher all her days and would text her children the latest weather report to make sure that we knew what was going on. She was fiercely independent and self-reliant, a trait she passed on to her children. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was extremely proud of them all. She will be missed by everyone including the local hummingbirds, racoons, deer, stray cats, and probably a possum or two. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Russell Charles Hulse and Rosa Mae Hulse (Ratliff); her husband of 58 years, Ralph E. Walkingstick, her sister, Margie I. Ball, and two brothers, Howard Hulse and Harold Hulse. Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory three daughters: Tamara Walkingstick and husband Jack Gazin of Yale, OK, Marci Walkingstick and husband Jeff Dixon of Tucson, AZ, Danita Walkingstick Cox of Tahlequah, OK, son, Sean Walkingstick and wife Amy (Smith) of Tulsa, OK and her brother, Doug Hulse and wife Joyce, of Lincoln, Arkansas. She leaves behind seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank the caregivers at The Springs Nursing Center, the Good Shepherd Hospice and especially the caregivers at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa. Robert Dickmann

"Robert Charles Dickmann, 64, of Tulsa, OK, was born February 16, 1959 in Muskogee, OK to Landon Joseph Dickmann and Barbara Patricia (Dennehy) Dickmann and peacefully passed away September 9, 2023 in Tulsa, OK. After graduating high school in Muskogee, Robert joined the United States Air Force in August of 1977 and proudly served until October of 1978, when he was honorably discharged. In his earlier years, Robert never missed an opportunity to play a friendly game of golf with his brothers and friends. Robert never knew a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off his back. Because of this, he made many dear friends throughout his life that always knew they could count on him. In his 40s, he felt convicted to attend a mission trip to Poland to help rebuild a Christian Church with fellow members at Ft. Gibson First United Methodist Church, where he attended at the time. Robert enjoyed watching many sports. He loved to cheer on his favorite football team the Oklahoma Sooners, rarely missing a game. Robert's nephew went on to play there and he was his biggest fan. Although he eventually had to make room in his heart for the OSU Cowboys once his daughter, Ally, decided to attend there. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Later in his life, Robert developed a love for black and white classic films and looked forward to his movie nights with friends. Cooking, baking and reading also became small passions for him in his later years. Although throughout his life, his greatest passion was spending time and laughing with his grandkids, family and friends. Robert will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Robert was preceded by his parents Lanny and Barbara Dickmann; and a sister, Cathy Peterson. Robert is lovingly survived by his daughter, Allyson Kelley of Tulsa, OK; brothers, Lanny Dickmann of Muskogee, OK, David Dickmann of Muskogee, OK, and Tim Dickmann of Claremore, OK; sisters, Cindy Lehman of Fort Gibson, OK, and Trish Dickmann of Oklahoma City, OK; extended family, and numerous friends. A celebration of Robert's life will be 9AM, Friday, September 15, 2023 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Muskogee with Brother Justin Kinman officiating.
