"Clara I. Krum, age 93, of Catawissa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 28, 2023. She was a resident of Emmanuel Nursing Center in Danville. She was born on September 6, 1930, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Kitchen) Kashner. On January 29, 1949, Clara married her loving husband, Robert Krum, having been married for 72 years. Clara worked by her husband\u0027s side at Krum Brothers Orchards for many years, which was co-owned by her husband, Robert and his brother, Glen Krum. Clara was a member of the Roaring Creek Valley United Methodist Church, Catawissa, where she served in numerous ministry activities, including, choir, Sunday School, Methodist Youth Fellowship, Vacation Bible School, Methodist Ladies Fellowship and until recently, the prayer chain. In addition to her parents, Clara was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert, their three daughters: Joyce Ann Krum, Elaine Kay Krum and Mary Elizabeth Krum, and a brother, Earl Kashner. To cherish her memory she leaves a son, Gary R. Krum and his wife Karen of Catawissa; four grandchildren: Jonathan R. Krum and wife Beth of Stella, N. C. , Cherise E. Krum of Catawissa, Benjamin A. Krum of Bloomsburg, Ryan M. Krum and wife Annie of Millville, six great grandchildren, a sister Eleanor Hanley of Montgomery, and a brother Carl Kashner and his wife Hilda of Danville. Memorial Services will begin on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Roaring Creek Valley United Methodist Church, 6 Orchard Drive, Catawissa, with Pastor Adam Miller, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Roaring Creek Valley Cemetery, Catawissa. Joan J. Bachman, 93, of Catawissa, a loving wife, mother, and friend, went to be with the Lord Thursday November 23, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born January 7, 1930, in Nanticoke, daughter of the late Evelyn Haupt. She married Roddy Bachman, the love of her life, on April 30, 1949. At the time of his passing in 2007, they were married 58 years. She co-owned, with her husband, Bachman Plumbing, Heating, Hardware; that served the Catawissa area for many years. Joan was a member of the Catawissa First United Methodist Church. She was a kind, giving, and supportive person. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and of course her four-legged companions. Joan was a fan of Flyers Hockey, PSU and Pittsburgh Steelers Football, and Duke Basketball. Additionally, Joan was preceded in death by her brother Charles "Speed" Verdekal, and nephews Chucky and Billy Verdekal. Joan is survived by her children Roddy Bachman, wife Monique of Virginia, Jody Bachman and Cindy Bachman, both of Catawissa, granddaughter Sandy Lamanna, husband Jesse of Virginia, niece JoAnn Zarambo, husband Bob and their children and grandchildren. Renee I Yocum (Fetterman) of Catawissa, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandma passed peacefully into Heaven with a new mind and body on Nov 20, 2023. She was 87. Renee was born on July 12, 1936, to the late Margaret and Karl Fetterman. She graduated from the former Catawissa High School in 1954. After high school she began a rewarding career in banking, beginning with Southside National Bank, Catawissa. That bank went through several mergers until she retired from PNC Bank of Catawissa. Renee was so proud of her job and cherished all of her customers. To this day, they still reminded her how much they appreciated her assistance with their accounts. She married the love of her life, John M Yocum, who survives, on July 12, 1959. They settled on a small piece of "beautiful land out in the country" in Catawissa. She always commented on how beautiful the mountain was from her kitchen window through all the seasons. Renee is also survived by two daughters, Janice Farnsworth and husband Gary, Elysburg; Lynette Conrad and husband Darryl, Bozeman, MT. Two beloved grandsons, Aaron and wife Brittany and Jesse Farnsworth all of Elysburg. Also survived by two great grandchildren, Morgan and Jack. Renee is also survived by two sisters, Lona Surface of Charleston, SC and Karleen Smith and her husband Ted of Bloomsburg. Four nieces and nephews also survive. Renee cherished her time spent w/ family and friends going out to lunch, sitting on her daughter's back deck and playing with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved traveling with her girls to different states throughout the years. Please raise a glass of wine and toast to Renee whenever you think of the good times. . . she would have appreciated the thought. A Celebration of Life service will be held in June/July 2024 at her church, Christ United Lutheran Church. This was Renee's favorite time of year. Edna P Gregorowicz, a resident of Catawissa, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023. She was born November 14, 1954 in Yokohama, Japan to Eldon Perkins and Michiko Kurosu Perkins. She graduated Dickinson College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She worked as a secretary for Catawissa Bottling Company and a legal secretary for the law firm of Kreisher and Gregorowicz until she became disabled. Despite being unable to work she continued to provide for the daily needs of her family. Edna is survived by her loving husband of forty- five years Michael Gregorowicz; three loving children: Annemarie Gregorowicz, Paul Gregorowicz, Michael Gregorowicz and a grandchild Christopher Beggs who she has helped raise since birth. She is also survived by her mother and two brothers: Harry Perkins and John Perkins. Her father and a brother Keith Perkins predeceased her. She enjoyed needle work and was an avid reader. However, Edna's greatest passion was cooking for her family. She was always in the kitchen. With a simple taste of any dish she could describe what flavored it and then recreate it, if she liked it or re-invent it if she didn't. Edna could whip up a great tasting meal from the simplest of ingredients to the preparation of a holiday feast with ease. We will never again be able to eat or enjoy a meal without thinking of her. Keith Cagigas joined his Blessed Savior on Saturday morning surrounded by his loving family after a brief unexpected illness. He was born in Swoyersville, PA and is predeceased by his parents, Arthur Cagigas, Roxy Culver Cagigas, and stepmother Geraldine Cagigas. He is survived by his loving family, his wife Paula DeAngelo Cagigas, daughter Jordan Cagigas Drake, son Michael Cagigas, and granddaughter Delilah Drake. He leaves behind his family pets, Duke, Roxy, and Blitz. He graduated from Wyoming Valley West High School where he participated in football and track and field. He graduated from LCCC with degrees in business and electronics engineering. He received a Vocational 2 certification from Penn State in Career and Technical Education. Keith began work in the family business, Mr. Brakes. He later worked for Heinz Pet Products as a project manager which took him to live in Puerto Rico and travel to many other industrial hubs around the world. He left industry to pursue a career in Electrical Education. Keith instructed the electrical program at CMVTS for several years before developing and implementing the mechatronics program. He was also an instructor at Triangle Tech, PPL Learning Center, and Sun Tech from which he retired. His hobbies included golfing, camping, and listening to country music. He played guitar and sang in two bands, North Star and Country Memories. He enjoyed smoking a variety of meats and barbecuing. He was an avid sports enthusiast and Phillies fan. Keith led a full and vibrant life. He had a dynamic personality, was beloved by many, and will be sorely missed. Services will be Saturday November 18, 2023 at 11:00 am at the James L. "Stacey N. Whitehair, age 38, of Catawissa, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at her home. She was a resident of her home in Catawissa for over seven years. She had a bright smile that lit up a room. Stacey was born on Sunday, August 25, 1985 in Pottsville a daughter of Diane Joan Faust. She graduated from the Mahanoy Area School District in 2003. On October 7, 2017, Stacey married her loving husband, Justin Whitehair. For over 3 years, Stacey was employed by Service 1st Credit Union, Danville as a Member Engagement Specialist II. She was also a new employee ambassador and led the sustainability committee activities. Stacey loved her cats; Ginger, Roo, Baggie, Peach and Sadie, and enjoyed camping, trying new foods, crafting, cooking, watching true crime shows and pod casts. She was a huge supporter of LGBTQ\u0026#43;, she truly believes love is love. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John W. and Emily E. Faust, a sister, Lillian Faust and an uncle, Glenn Faust. Mary B. Leighow, 82, of Numidia passed into the loving arms of her Lord on Oct. 27, 2023, at Emmanuel Center, Danville. Mary was born on Jan. 20, 1941, in Northumberland. She was raised by her late parents, Laura and Henry Brecht. Mary was a graduate of the former Northumberland High School with the Class of 1959. She worked for Wilson Mfg. in Sunbury, and Magee Carpet Co. , Bloomsburg. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Numidia, where she was a secretary for 21 years. She also sang in the church choir and played in the bell choir. She was married on May 16, 1964, to Dale L. Leighow, who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2022. They lived and farmed near Numidia. They had four daughters: Sally Leighow and partner, Brian Kile; twins: Suann Leighow and Suzet Martin and husband, William, and Sonya Leighow and longtime partner, Debbie Hults, of rural Catawissa. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Sabrina Vought and partner, Mike Kelchner, of Danville, Wyatt, Sarah, Weston Martin, all of Catawissa; and one great-granddaughter, Shelby Paige Kelchner, of Danville. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Henry, Thomas, Paul Brecht; and sister, Kathryn DeRocko. Surviving are sisters: Margaret "Peggy" Whipple and Claire Stabnau; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was very community service-oriented. She was a life member and the first woman to be an active fire fighter of the Valley Chemical Fire Company, Numidia. She was a charter member of Valley Chemical Fire Company Auxiliary. She was also an EMT with the Valley Quick Response Squad. Mary also supported our veterans. She was a life member of Catawissa VFW No. 8306 Auxiliary; a member of the Northumberland American Legion Post 44; the Danville Women of the Moose No. 930, and the NRA. She and Dale spent many years deer hunting on the family farm. Mary was an avid bowler since the age of 16. She was on many leagues in the Northumberland area and later joined leagues around the Bloomsburg area. She always had an adventure traveling to bowling tournaments in the state. One of Mary's greatest joys was "doing things with her girls. " She coached girls' softball for 9 to 12-year-old girls. She worked in the Horticulture building at Bloomsburg Fair for 20-plus years. She could also be seen parking cars at Rohrbach's for special events. In the summer, Mary enjoyed working for catering at Knoebels Amusement Resort. Mary's favorite way to relax was fishing at the Indian River Inlet, Delaware, with her daughters and friends. She enjoyed a competitive card game of 31 whenever someone had a deck of cards and four quarters. Mary always had a smile on her face and knew how to enjoy life to the fullest. Anthony "Tony" P. Conmy, 59, passed peacefully, yet suddenly, in his sleep Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Tony was born March 15, 1964, to Joan M. (Maro) Conmy and John P. Conmy, in Lock Haven, PA, the eldest son of a set of identical twins. He was raised in Scranton, PA where he attended Bishop Hannon High School. After high school, he proudly served for 11 years in the US Navy, where he was part of the recommissioning crew of the US Missouri. He sailed around the world on the USS Missouri and often boasted of his adventures aboard while proudly serving his country. Tony's greatest accomplishment, though, was being a loving and caring father to both Shauna M. Conmy and Carter A. Conmy. Tony was an avid cat lover (big and small) and was a loving Cat Dad to Odessa, Kara and Smoky. Tony was previously a Boy Scout Leader, which he enjoyed immensely. His great passion in life was reenactment, though. He enjoyed many years of events, encampments, and spending time with friends within the Society of Creative Anachronism. While serving in the Navy in California, Tony was a founding member of The Adrian Empire, which has since become a countrywide reenactment Society, where he has made even more wonderful friends. Tony now joins his beloved mother, Joan, his beloved younger brother John P. (JP) Conmy, Jr. his beloved grandparents Anthony and Frances Maro and his father, John P. Conmy in peaceful rest. His memory will be carried forward by his children, his closest and dearest friends, his twin brother, Thomas P. Conmy, his stepmother, Marie S. Conmy, nieces, nephews and loving cousins.
