Clara Barham Horton, 81, of Wake Forest, passed peacefully from this life on September 10, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on August 29, 1942 to the late Linwood W. and Louise Bartholomew Barham and enjoyed her childhood years in The Falls Community. She graduated from Millbrook High School in 1960 and married Everett Wilson Horton, the love of her life. Together they lived life to the fullest for 63 years. We remember the immense love Clara felt and expressed for her entire family in so many ways. We also remember her appreciation for the beauty of Nature through the gardens she planted. Her compassionate kind ways were always a light in the world and in our lives. A graveside service will be held at 11 o'clock, September 14, 2023 at the Falls Community Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lori Beth Horton of Wake Forest; granddaughter, Naomi Horton of Wake Forest; brother, Linwood E. Barham & wife Barbara of Wake Forest; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Proctor and Haywood Barham. The world changes from year to year, our lives change from day to day; but the love and memory of Paulette Erwin shall never pass away. Paulette, age 73, went to be with her Eternal Father on December 5, 2023 after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends. Paulette was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She resided in Willow Spring, NC for the past 28 years. She was a Paralegal for over 25 years and then worked for the North Carolina Department of Emergency Management from where she retired. She was an active member of Wildwood Free Will Baptist Church in Garner, NC. Paulette's radiant smile brought joy to everyone, especially when she was serving the Lord. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 1:00 P. M. at Wildwood Free Will Baptist Church, 5788 Cornwallis Road, Garner, NC with Pastor Terry Hardison officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private entombment will be held at Pearce Baptist Church Columbarium in Zebulon. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lois Shipman, sisters, Betty Barrow and Janice Shipman and a son, Kevin Carpenter. She is survived by her husband, Walter Erwin, daughter, Denise Pearce (Tony), son, Jeremy Carpenter (Kim Walker) and sister, Gloria Strickland. She has six surviving grandchildren, Paul, Grace, Bryant, Zachary, Samantha and McCoy. Caleb McArthur Wilkins, 25, was born on August 10, 1998. He passed away at his parents' home in Wake Forest NC on Friday, December 1, 2023. Caleb grew up in Wake Forest and graduated from Wake Forest High School where he enjoyed playing lacrosse. Caleb's intelligence and curiosity drove him to experience many different career paths where he built a wide variety of skills and friendships. Caleb is remembered as a loving and kind son and young man who cared deeply for his family and friends. Caleb had a strong faith in the Lord and most recently was attending Baptist Grove Church in Raleigh NC. He was baptized and enjoyed fellowship in their congregation by attending the NFL Sunday Football Watch Parties and enjoyed playing tennis on Sunday nights with his church family. One could not think of Caleb without a great appreciation for his love of the outdoors and being an avid salt and freshwater fisherman. He had a passion for healthy living, growing his own foods and using it in creative cooking recipes. Caleb also greatly enjoyed the family dogs and animals of any kind. Caleb is predeceased by his grandparents, Joyce Wilkins, Ruby and Preston Cannon; an aunt, Jonlyn Wilkins. Caleb leaves his best furry friend, Juno (Peanut), in his parents' care. He is survived by his parents, Timothy (Tim) Wilkins and Dawn Wilkins; sister, Grace Wilkins; grandfather, John Wilkins; grandmother, Donna Cannon; aunts and uncles, Scott & Loretta Wilkins, Gary & DeLon Nelms, Owen & Debbie, and Tony Gordon. He is also survived by his cousins, Jake and McKenzie Wilkins, Chris Andrews (Mary Hannah), Elliott Andrews (Sarah Jane), Kendall Andrews, and Carly Gordon. James V. Ricci III, 79, of Wake Forest, NC passed peacefully from this life on November 26 at Durham VA Medical Center Hospice. He was surrounded by his loving family. Left to celebrate his life, cherish his memory, and tell his stories are his wife, Michelle; daughters Tara Ives (John) and Alexandra Ricci of Selma, NC; sister Christina Ricci of Bristol, RI; brothers Steven Ricci (Anne) of Bristol, RI and Peter Ricci of Providence, RI; grandsons Austin Wolfe of Wrightsville Beach, NC; Gavin and Drew House of Selma, NC; three nieces, a great niece and two great-nephews. Michael Battista Jr. , 82, of Wake Forest passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. He was born in Manhattan, NY July 28, 1941 to the late Michael Battista, Sr. and Blanche Battista. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Battista and sister-in-law, Jean Battista. "Grandpa/Uncle Mickey" was an enthusiastic and active golfer and loved woodworking. Crafting both golf and wood projects for family and friends was his passion. He is survived by his wife, Serafina Battista, a daughter, Michele Mastroianni and husband Dominic, a son, Michael Battista III and wife Amy, a brother, Edward Battista and wife Peggy, a sister, Amelia Miele and husband Lawrence and six grandchildren - Dominic III, Damiano, Donatella, Maria, Grant and Garrett. Beverly Ann Lowe, also affectionately known as Grammy, passed away at home on November 23, 2023, in Raleigh, NC, at the age of 69. She was born on March 6, 1954, in Johnson City, Tennessee. Beverly was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Beverly was an excellent cook and found joy in expressing her love for her family through food and snacks. Her specialties included deviled eggs, potato salad, banana pudding, and her "famous" beef chili. Her culinary skills brought warmth and happiness to many family gatherings. In addition to her culinary talents, Beverly had a passion for collecting American antiques. She had impeccable taste and a keen eye for finding the perfect piece of history. Her favorite place to hunt for these treasures was in Pennsylvania. Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Lowe, her daughters Jennifer Terry (and husband Tony) and Christie Daniel (and husband Alan), her grandchildren Emma Daniel, Brody Terry, and Violet Terry, and her brother Richard Haines. She was also cherished by her great friends Becky Jaber & Christopher Kendall and Jack & Kathy Newman. She was preceded in death by her father Cecil Haines, her mother Beulah Haines, and her brothers Dale Haines and Robert Haines. Beyond her professional endeavors, Lisa had a profound love for animals, with her dogs, Baby Girl, Champ, and Chance, holding a special place in her heart. She is survived by her mother, Tiffany Sorrell of Durham; her father, Dennis Oliphant (Pamela Honeycutt) of Oxford; brother, Corey Oliphant (Heather) of Wake Forest; sister Brianna Honeycutt of Creedmoor; nieces, Skylar Oliphant, Cara Monroe and Cameron Monroe; nephew, Caleb Jackson Rose; lifelong friend, Jessica Wood Bowman of Mebane; second mama, Terri Wood of Durham; uncle, Joey Ray Jones (Lesley) of Asheboro; aunt, Shirley Andrews (David) and their family; great uncle, Cricket Ellis of Rancho Cucamonga, California, and Ray "Papa" Jones of Durham, along with cousin Rivers Jones and extended family and friends.
