Clara Rose Hall, 84, of Gilberts, IL died peacefully on October 5, 2023, with her family by her side. Clara was born March 24, 1939, in Chicago, the daughter of Robert and Esther (Dalsgard) Tyler. She had a lengthy and successful career in property management. Clara was the most energetic person in the room, and always the first to volunteer, as she did at Advocate Sherman Hospital in administration, and Hemmens Auditorium until her passing. She was active at St. Mary Church (Huntley, IL) involved with CHRP also counting money for the church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Clara is survived by her children, David (Joan) Hall, Cheryl DeBartolo, and Larry (Allison) Hall; by her grandchildren, Taylor (Shaun Zinke), Tiffany (Connor) Henry, Rebecca, and Nicholas; by her great-grandson Dean; by her siblings, Michael Tyler, Steve (Cathy) Tyler, Mary Tyler, and Anne (Randy) Modrow and by nieces and nephews. Clara also had a multitude of friends that are too many to mention, and she loved and appreciated them all. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Visitation will continue Friday morning at St. Mary Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley from 9am until 10am, followed by her funeral mass at 10am. The internment will be at 12:30pm at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL-700 N. River Rd, Des Plaines. A reception will follow the internment. Janet Brice 72 of Gilberts, IL Lost her battle with Colon Cancer and passed awayMarch 29th 2023. Janet was born and grew up in Elgin, IL. She was the Daughter of John and Mary(Wahl) Runge. Janet was proceeded in death by her father John. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 37 years Jeffrey Brice, daughter Kelli, son Colin (Payton Berg), Brother Johnny Runge, sister Jill (Tom Hoppe), sister Jennifer(John Maloney), Grandchildren, Myrissa (Aaron Studer), David (Courtney Cady) ScholzGreat Grandchildren Ava and Aria Studer, baby boy Scholz due in June, and many nieces and nephews. Janet was employed by Jewel Food Stores for 50 years. She held many positions over her 50 year career. Her last and longest position was as Personnel Coordinator at the Jewel in West Dundee. Janet enjoyed playing softball in Elgin and Bartlett. It was threw Softball and Jewel that she met her Husband Jeff. Janet loved playing cards, dominoes, and working her crossword puzzles. She enjoyed family vacation at the family home in South Carolina. Janet enjoyed her time traveling to watch her son play and then coach soccer. Janet also adored spending time with her Grand and Great Grandchildren. Janet was the Glue of the family and Will truly be missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. A service of remembrance will start at 11:00 AM followed by burial at Washington Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Michael Kirkham "Kirk" Stevenson, 65, of Gilberts, died on October 23, 2022, in his home. Kirk was born in New London, Connecticut on August 11, 1957, to parents Eric and Judith (nee Herrick) Stevenson. He studied fine arts at the Philadelphia College of Art and received his undergraduate degree at Temple University in Philadelphia. He then went on to receive his Masters of Museum Education at George Washington University in Washington, DC, and his Masters of Secondary Education at Roosevelt University in Chicago. He met Karen Morehead at church in Washington D. C. and the couple was married on February 17, 1991. Kirk and Karen celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary this year and together they dedicated their lives to raising their four children. At age 19 he became a believer in Jesus Christ and faithfully served Him all his life. Kirk enjoyed spending time playing guitar and making up personalized songs for each of his children, whom he called by creative and clever nicknames. He was a skilled writer and loved to spend time reading. He sought knowledge through books and challenging discussions with others. He was passionately devoted to the improvement of his relationships and his health. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Through his intentional care for others, Kirk leaves a lasting legacy of love. Kirk is survived by his beloved wife, Karen, his dear children Andrea (30), Eric (29), Charlotte (25), and Colin (21), his siblings, Jonathan (Sharon Butler) Stevenson, Anne (Zhi Fang Yang) Stevenson-Yang, Margot Stevenson, and Philip Stevenson, his nephew, Sam Stevenson, his niece, Lucy Stevenson, his step niece Lena Curland, and his mother-in-law, Amalia Morehead. Burial will be private at Steele Cemetery in Falls City, Nebraska. A memorial service will be held on November 19 at 11 a. m. at Elgin Evangelical Free Church, 1900 Big Timber Road, Elgin, IL 60123. Burial will be private at Steele Cemetery in Falls City, Nebraska. A memorial service will be held on November 19 at 11 a. m. at Elgin Evangelical Free Church, 1900 Big Timber Road, Elgin, IL 60123.
