Funeral Services for Cindy Neidig have been scheduled for Friday, September 15, 2023 at St. Therese Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a. m. - 10:15 am in the Wooldridge Center. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:15 a. m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Cindy's life will commence at 10:30 a. m. with Rev. Joseph Cisetti presiding. A private Committal Service will be held at a later date at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. Cynthia Neidig, 78, a Northland resident and parishioner of St. Therese Catholic Church passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at North Kansas City Hospital. Mrs. Evelyn Ann Parrish, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully in Blue Springs, Missouri on December 1st, 2023. Born on August 8, 1929, in Green Ridge, Missouri, daughter to John Price and Mabel (Spickert) Ruffin. She was 94 years of age. Evelyn led a life filled with love, faith, and service to others. After attending Central Missouri State Teachers College, Evelyn married James "Jim" Parrish in 1953 and she lived in Petersburg, Virginia while Jim served his country overseas. Once Jim’s service ended, they moved to Independence, Missouri. Evelyn began working at Hallmark Cards before joining the team at Randall Elementary School. Her unwavering commitment to her co-workers and education lasted nearly three decades and left an indelible impact on countless students and those who worked beside her. Evelyn was always up for traveling and eagerly joined her family on numerous trips. Whether it was exploring new places or embarking on beloved family traditions, Evelyn's presence made every moment more memorable. In addition to traveling, Evelyn had several hobbies and interests that brought joy to her life. She had a wonderful talent for cooking and delighted those around her with her delicious creations. An avid reader, Evelyn cherished visits to the library and instilled a love for reading in others. Evelyn's faith played a great role in her life as she was a long-time member of the Sycamore Hills Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri. Her unwavering belief instilled in her an unyielding strength that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear, she epitomized the qualities of compassion and friendship. She enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her by being an exceptional friend. Evelyn loved Christmas. Her love for this time of year shone through in all that she did – from hosting memorable family gatherings filled with laughter and love to meticulously selecting presents that would bring smiles to the faces of her loved ones. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with friends and family shopping. She especially enjoyed shopping with her sister. Flower gardening brought immense joy to Evelyn's life as it allowed her to connect with nature and witness its vibrant beauty firsthand. Evelyn loved her family. Their happiness and well-being were her proudest accomplishments. She cherished every moment spent with family, finding her heart in their laughter and solace in their presence. Her legacy is one of love, unity, and the importance of cherishing family bonds. Evelyn is survived by her children, David (Diane) Parrish, Donald (Kim) Parrish; grandchildren, Dana Thingelstad, Bryan (Casey) Parrish, Stephen Parrish, Tyler (Kristy) Parrish, Trevor (Haley) Parrish, Taylor (Joely) Parrish, Hilary (Eric) Haynes, Emily (J. P. ) Garry, Michael Brown; great grandchildren, Trey Thingelstad, Tyler Thingelstad, Carter Parrish, Raylan Parrish, Ophelia Parrish, Parker Parrish, Camden Parrish, baby Cali Parrish coming soon in January, Ryan Haynes, Jack Haynes; sister, Mary Rosalie Elkins; extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by husband James Parrish; her infant son, Gary Dean Parrish; parents, John and Mabel Ruffin; and siblings, Kenneth Ruffin, John Ruffin, Ed "Fuzz" Ruffin. Services will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Family will greet guests during a Visitation from 9-10 am, a Funeral Service will follow at 10 am. Evelyn will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia, Missouri. Guests may meet at the cemetery for burial at 1:00 pm. Evelyn Ann Parrish has left an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her. She touched hearts with her kindness, inspired others with her unwavering faith, and brought joy to countless lives with her love for family and friends.Show more

Pauline M. Manley. 76, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully at 7:59 p. m. on November 20, 2023, at the NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City Hospital. She was born March 22, 1947 in Boulder, CO to Paul Edward and Marilyn M. (McIntosh) Henry. They preceded her in death. Pauline graduated high school in Lexington, MO and spent the majority of her working career in the Kansas City area where she was a caregiver and registered CNA. This was a career she loved and was truly devoted to. In her spare time, Pauline enjoyed tending to her flower garden, birdwatching and spending time with family. She had a heart of gold and will always be remembered for her love for people and the fact that she was always looking to care for others. She married William Joseph Manley on April 16, 1966 in Richmond, MO. Mr. Manley preceded her in death on July 22, 2022. In addition to her parents and Bill, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jerry Bishop and Kathryn Freeman. Survivors include her beloved daughter, Renea Lynn Macaluso and husband, James of Parkville, MO; and her beloved son, Kevin Michael Manley of Gladstone, MO. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place with private urn placement.
