"Cierra Lorynn Steven's light was extinguished from this earth on September 3, 2023 in Morgantown, WV. In her 31 years, Cierra touched the lives of many others and lived with admirable tenacity and fierce love. She had kaleidoscope eyes, the brightest smile and an infectious laugh she always shared. She surrounded herself with music, and always danced to her own, individual tune. Cierra was highly intelligent and was continuously absorbing information throughout her life, expanding her knowledge. She was an avid lover of plants and cultivated many species while educating others with her experience. During her lifetime, Cierra struggled with addiction and mental health barriers. One thing she was most proud of was her clean time achievements and her ability to create a safe space for others to help them do the same. She loved her dog Finn dearly, and thanks to Tracy Buzzard and Angie Kay, Finn has happily found his forever home where he can run and play. Cierra was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Don & Freda Mallory; Robert & Jane Stevens; Orland & Betty Truman; cousin Michael Frame; aunt Heather Hilts and Jake, her first dog that was the love of her life. Cierra is survived by her mother, Marcie Stevens of Scott Depot; father, Andrew (Debbie) Hilts of Madison, WV; nanna, Karen (Herb) Whittard of Charleston, SC; Paw Paw, Bill (Jan) Stevens of St. Albans, WV; grandparents Ed & Kathy Hilts of New Port Richey, FL; aunt Kristen Hilts Walskey of Tampa, Florida; and half-siblings, Tiler Lockhart and Ryann Hilts; "uncle Chris" (Nikki) Wiseman; many great aunts such as Jill (Jeff) Cline, great uncles and cousins, and a tremendous group of friends and co-workers from the Hurricane and Morgantown area. A celebration of life will be 4:00 pm Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. Please bring stories to share of Cierra during her short time here on earth so that we may pay tribute to her life. If you are not able to attend, please post an online memorial on her page at www. chapmanfuneralhome. com, so that it can be read at the service. As quoted by her friend, Chastity: "Cierra had the soul of a gypsy, the heart of a hippie and the spirit of a fairy. " Nothing could be more true. Float on, sweet Cierra. We all loved you more than you could have ever loved yourself. Chapman Funeral Home 3941 Teays Valley Road Hurricane, WV 25526 is honored to serve the Stevens family. "
