On October 5th 2023, Dr Chunshou Xia, devoted father, husband, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 60 after battling brain tumor for more than 1 year He was of the 6th of seven children born to Guixing Xia and Aizhen Chen on January 20, 1963 in Suchen town, Taixian, Jiangshu Province, P R of China He excelled in Jiangshu Jianyan high school and went to China University of Mining and Technology After college, Chunshou won National scholarship for exchange student to University of Houston to pursue his PhD in Geology/Earth Science Chunshou joined Exxon Mobile in 1995 as an Exploration Geoscientist applying geophysics to hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation for 15 years covering exploration, development, production and research He joined Nexen USA Inc in 2011 as a Geophysicist responsible for appraisal and development of GOM new play discovery Chunshou became a Sr Geophysical Advisor for Nexen CNOOC International development projects before assuming his final role as Sr Manager, Functional Support (geophysics), CNOOC Energy USA He made significant contributions to CNOOC's success from finding new oil fields to development and production Chunshou was a past member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and a great mentor to many young Geoscientists in the oil and gas industry Beyond his professional achievements, Chunshou was a man of simple joys, He found solace and contentment in the art of fishing, and cherished moments spent in the company of his close friends and family The serene shores of Lake Somerville held a special place in his heart, offering him a sanctuary for relaxation and reflection In his spare time, Chunshou also enjoyed taking his two sons to tennis tournaments, orchestra events and was a huge fan of the Rockets and Houston Symphony He was handy and skillful in home improvement and always helped others as well He enjoyed BBQ and good beers with his friends in Houston's hot summer Chunshou, as his family and friends note, was a "kind and generous man with his wit and humor who loved his family, his friends, his work and his dog " Left to cherish his memories is devoted wife Shouqin Huang, beloved sons Albert Xia, Victor Xia, Brothers Chunxi Xia, Chunyu Xia, Chuncai Xia, Chunwang Xia and Sister Longxi Xia He had a short but beautiful life, he is gone but never forgotten, leaving his loving memories in our hearts forever To to the family or in memory of Chunshou Xia, please

Leroy Orvill Umland was born September 24, 1945, to Frank and Arlene (Kronberg) Umland in Hanford California and was the eldest of two, having been blessed with his baby sister Donna the day after his fifth birthday. He graduated from Hanford High School in 1963. Among one of his first jobs was night security in farmer fields which he later retold stories of how he handled local kids caught trespassing trying to cause havoc and have a good time. He joined the United States Army not long after high school and during his early years in the military he met the love of his life and future wife, Elaine Stuart. He went on to marry her in December of 1967 in the company of friends and family. During his military career, Leroy completed three tours in Germany, and was stationed in Texas, Hawaii, Louisiana, and Georgia to name a few places. Leroy worked his way through military in the Engineer Corp, assigned to work on and lead several construction projects where he was stationed. His engineering experience gave him a solid foundation for a woodworking hobby which he used to create beautiful and ornate wall clocks for friends and co-workers. During his first stay in Germany, he and Elaine were fortunate to travel throughout Europe, visiting various countries and historical landmarks including the Neuschwanstein Castle and the Secret Annex of the Frank family. In his second tour in Germany, Leroy's son Douglas was born in Frankfurt and his daughter was born in Honolulu while he was stationed in Hawaii. Leroy retired from the Army in 1988 at the rank of Sergeant First Class at the end of his third stay in Germany and his family settled in Susanville California where he took some temporary jobs for a few months until he was taken on as a permanent employee by the Susanville School District as a middle school custodian for Diamond View School and later at Meadowview School. After the passing of his beloved wife in 1998, he remarried to Marcia. In 2001 Leroy celebrated the birth of his first granddaughter and then his second in 2006 before moving to Sante Fe Texas with his second wife after his retirement from the school district. Leroy took pleasure in his newest hobby of acrylic painting which brought him joy in committing his memories of the Sierra Nevada mountains and trips to the beach to canvas. In 2019, Mr. Umland laid his second wife to rest and lived out his remaining days enjoying his painting, watching old western movies and chatting online to people all over the world with shared interests. He succumbed to a brief but fierce eight-month battle with cancer and treatment complications on December 4, 2023. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Arlene Umland, his first wife Elaine Umland, his second wife Marcia Umland, and his son Douglas Umland and is survived by his sister Donna Neal of Hanford CA, daughter Regina Randall of Susanville CA and granddaughters Mystaya Randall of The Dalles OR and Cirrus Randall of Wahiawa HI. Mr. Umland will be put to rest at the Houston National Cemetery on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11:15am with Military Funeral Honors in the company of friends and family. Bonnie "Bon Bon" "GMA" Phyllis Maltzman Percely beloved Grandmother, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Great Aunt, Aunt and Friend left our loving arms Friday, December 8, 2023, but she will never leave our hearts. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on January 19, 1947 she graduated from Henry Snyder High School and Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey. Bon Bon spent her summers with JuJu and LuLu working at the Windmill on the Jersey Shore. Bonnie married Alan S. Percely in 1970, their first daughter, Caryn Michele was born in New York City in 1973 and they moved to Houston, Texas in 1974. Bonnie was a teacher in New Jersey and in Texas and stopped teaching soon after the birth of their second daughter, Dara Lynn in 1977 to become a full-time mom and volunteer. Bonnie immersed herself in her children's PTA organizations, becoming a lifetime member and serving as President of the Spring Forest Junior High PTA. Bonnie was a member of the First Junior Women's Club and was active with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House. She was an avid reader, loved animals, loved the sun, loved to swim, loved to shop and loved to sing (even when she didn't know the words or the words were not in a language she spoke). She also loved a good margarita or a nice glass of wine with her loved ones. Her most cherished role in life was that of Grandma "GMA" to her grandson Xander and granddaughter Zoe. Bonnie had so many amazing friends and never met a stranger. Bonnie was predeceased in death by her father, Edward S. Maltzman, mother, Ethel Feldman Maltzman and her sister Cynthia "Cindy" Rae Maltzman Cohen. Bonnie is survived by her daughter Caryn Michele Percely Papantonakis and her "son" Johnny and their children Xander (18) and Zoe (15), her daughter Dara Lynn Percely, her grand kitties, her sister-in-law Cathy Maltzman, her niece, Yaffa Maltzman Baslaw and her husband David and their children Avinoam, Hadassah and Bethsheba, her niece, Lainie Maltzman Messina and her husband Rich and their children Amanda and Lindsey, her cousins Linda Feldman, Henry Fields, Dr. Michael Feldman, Dr. Steven Maltzman, Dr. Barry Maltzman, Dr. Richard Maltzman, Bruce Maltzman, Debra Maltzman Peters, Wendy Feldman Yano and all of their spouses and children. A graveside service will take place in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. at the Pavilion at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet Street, Houston, Texas 77074 all are welcome.
