Christopher Jung Obituary

Christopher J. Jung: 89 years old of Oregon, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday April 20, 2023 at Harbour Village Retirement Community, Greendale, WI. He was born March 13, 1934 in Chicago, IL , the son of the late Christopher & Mary Jung, living in Morton Grove, IL for many years before settling in Oregon, IL. Before his retirement in 1986, Christopher worked as a research chemist for Searle Pharmaceutical Co, Skokie, IL for 30+ years. Christopher was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon, IL and was a park volunteer at Palisades state park. He enjoyed: working on cars, taking care of his home, and traveling in his Airstream out west. On June 18, 1955 he married Patricia, and she preceded him in death on December 19, 2014. Survivors include: a daughter Geralyn (Robert) Kocan of Madison, WI; daughter-in-law Fran Jung of Mt. Prospect, IL; two grandchildren: James (Aimee) Kocan of Greenfield, WI and Jennifer (Patrick) Loper of Phoenix, AZ; and a great-grandson Oliver Kocan; and friends. In addition to his parents, Christopher was preceded in death by a son Chris. Funeral Services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Wednesday April 26, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Peter Church 557 Lake St. Antioch, IL 60002. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
