Christopher Peveril Hansen was born on March 22, 1971 in Port Hueneme, CA to Kenneth and Earline Hansen. As a boy, he loved to fish, play Nintendo, and pick on his 4 younger siblings. He strived to be the smartest of them all. He loved to read, everything from the Bible to his mom's entire collection of encyclopedias! His other favorite things to nerd out on are Star Wars, Star Trek, and anything that involves history. Chris loved to cook, he worked on a fishing boat as a Chef for many months in Alaska. Shortly after that, he found his real passion: framing. He has built and helped remodel houses all over Washington State. His kids will never forget driving around and his random comments of "I built that house"! He met the love of his life at a Halloween party at the age of 24. He was persistent and consistent in winning Kimberley's heart, even when she gave him a hard time. They got married in June of 1998 after Kendra was born. His biggest accomplishment was giving Kimberley her dream, a heard of children and a horse. Over the next 4 years, they had Payton, Christian, Madison, and Kimberley. At home, Chris's goal was to create the perfect playground for his wife and kids. The whole family rode and cared for the various horses he purchased. Pretty Girl, Austin, Trigger and Slick being among the favorites. The pool was up all summer long, and quads always gassed and ready to go. He always reminded visitors to bring their "helmets, boots, and swimming suits" when they came over. After breaking his leg in a snowboarding accident, he went back to the books. He was very proud of his Associates Degree in Business Management from Whatcom Community College. He loved to make new friends and engage in thoughtful, intelligent debates with his teachers and peers. One thing's for sure, he always had a joke (appropriate or not) ready to get everyone laughing! He LOVED music. There was never a moment he didn't have his Dewalt or Milwaukee radio playing. He loved everything from Mother Love Bone to Uncle Kraker and even Carly Rae Jepsen's Call me Maybe. Kendra got her strong work ethic and new found love for smoking meats from her dad. He initiated the idea for the family to go in on a Treager for a wedding gift when she got married. Payton will always cherish his neverending support and encouragement to pursue her dreams. He encouraged Payton to pursue softball, and was at every practice. He was always her biggest fan. His son Christian describes him as his Hero. They spent a lot of time working together on the San Juan Islands, and Chris took pride in knowing he planted the seed for his passion into his son. Christian loved to play baseball, and was often taken on adventures to Mariners games through the years. Madison learned how to embrace her quirky and outward personality from her dad. They loved talking smack and playing with snapchat filters together. They have quite a collection of pictures and videos. Kimmie fondly remembers getting her first horse from her dad. They also shared a bond for cooking, and music from the 60s to the 90s. He is preceded in death by his brother Joel sister Teresa Mae, and step daughter Stephany Vanderwoude. He was survived by wife Kimberley, children Kendra (Jerrod) Bennett, Payton, Christian, Madison, and Kimberley. Granddaughter Mya Vanderwoude. His parents Kenneth and Earline Hansen, brother Dale, sisters Clarissa (Shane) Rosenow and Vivian. Nephews Michael Dykstra and Johnathan Rosenow. Nieces Torrey, Michelle (Michael) Marshall, and Emily Rosenow. Great nieces and and nephews Talib, River, Tenea, and Ryker. The Celebration of Life will be held at Living Water Fellowship, 4767 Meridian Road, Bellingham, WA 98226 on Saturday, October 7th at 4pm.

Theodore Gudmundson

Theodore Gudmundson

Age - 87

November 26, 2023

Theodore "Bud" Gudmundson Bud held on to his sense of humor until his death on November 11, 2023. Bud never met a stranger and was one of the friendliest men you would ever meet. He loved his wife Anita, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and telling stories – not necessarily in that order. After his marriage, Bud began hunting with his father-in-law Shorty and brothers-in-law Monte and Jim, always bringing home venison for our traditional family Christmas dinner of venison and gravy over pancakes. After retiring, he spent many afternoons with his mother-in-law Freda visiting and playing cards. Bud and Anita loved traveling to Maui and to Arizona with his sister June to watch Spring Training. He had a great time spending summers in Birch Bay with his family, including many late night poker games with his grandkids. Always proud of his Icelandic heritage, later in life he was able to travel to Iceland many times with his children to learn about his Icelandic roots and get to know his cousins. After retirement, he loved working out in his shop making tables, coffee/bar carts and birdhouses for all. He loved to bake bread and cookies, BBQ and make large family meals – especially at the holidays and for family get togethers. Bud loved his family and friends fiercely and unconditionally. We will truly miss Dad/Afi’s cooking, hugs, laughter, sense of humor and yes, even his stories. We will be sure to carry on his favorite traditions. We’ll let Bud tell you a little bit more about himself: I came out of hiding in Blaine, Washington, May 28, 1936, to be met by my parents Olive and Emil Gudmundson. Oh, and five sisters, Esther, June, Norma Jean, Margaret, and Theo. Two years later along came sister Lorene. My folks did not own a home, so we moved a few times. My dad worked in Seattle during WWll, so we kids helped our Mother with the farm work. I was milking my cow at age six and knew/used every farm tool we had. City life came at age 12, and the balance of my school years, living with my folks. Graduated from good old Blaine High in 1954 and headed for the big city of Seattle. I had several menial jobs including as a cook in Alaska on a salmon tender. In 1955, I hired on at United Air Lines and spent over 37 years, enjoying every minute with this company. In 1957, a young lady hired in as a secretary for my boss. WOW, she was quite a breath of fresh air. It took several months but I finally got a date. At the tender age of 21, the "Love Of My Life" was My Anita. We were married in 1958. We raised five absolutely Beautiful Kids, and they in turn, raised our fabulous grandkids. Susan Gudmundson and Steve White, have Hannah and Drew; Eric and son Graham (deceased); Lynn and Gary Tucker have Kyle (his son Jack) and Connor; Mark and Melissa have Keegan; and Janice and Josh Hatley have Samuel (his wife Jazzy) Ben and Alexandra. I leave them all with all the Love I could ever have had. What a truly marvelous life. A Celebration Bud’s life will be December 2, 2023, 1-4pm at Star Lake Improvement Club. In lieu of flowers, Bud asked that donations be made to Hillsdale Cemetery (4429 Loomis Trail Road, Blaine WA 98230), Free Church Unitarian (1218 Harrison Ave, Blaine WA 98230) or the American Heart Association.Show more

Rochelle Wisner

Rochelle Wisner

Age - 75

November 23, 2023

Rochelle Esary WisnerDecember 2, 1947-- October 12, 2023Rochelle (Shelly) was relieved of her suffering from ovarian cancer October 12, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family and care giver. Rochelle was truly a beautiful and inherently happy person inside and out. Her natural radiant smile many said lit up a room and gave joy to those who witnessed it. Rochelle was a caring and gracious person with a healthy dose of class. Being both down to earth and open led her to quickly connect with people, making many long lasting friendships. She loved to laugh and describing her as fun loving would be an understatement. Rochelle grew up on a family homestead dairy farm on the Allen West Road in Skagit County near Edison. Her parents, Buraleen and Ralph Esary expected that chores be done, but created many opportunities for creativity and joy in her childhood. She always loved her Edison/Skagit County roots and maintained her many friendships from kindergarten on for the rest of her life. She loved to dance from her earliest years and throughout her life. This made her an ideal cheerleader at her alma matter, Burlington-Edison High School. Rochelle was a family-oriented person, who fiercely loved her two daughters, Heather and Heidi. Her two granddaughters, Natalie and Audrey, gave her true joy and pride. With her keen sense of color she became an impressive artist using mainly oils and pastels. With that artistry she beautified and brought joy to the life of her husband, Doctor David Wisner. She was an excellent cook. Rochelle decorated their home and gardens beautifully. She and her husband were able to experience much of the world and its cuisine through their travels. A true snowbird, what really excited her was the sun and warmth which she found in her beloved condo in Peoria, Arizona along with many new friends. In Peoria she could continue her long daily walks which became a source of spiritual solace and introspection. In addition to her loving husband, Rochelle is survived by her two daughters, her two granddaughters and her sister Roxanne Davis of Kirkland, WA. Roxanne has two children and four grandchildren. Roxanne's son Jeff Davis of Tacoma, who runs a very successful family business has two children, Jaeger and Olivia. Roxanne's daughter, Cherron, lives in Helena, Montana on a large ranch with her husband and beautiful twin girls, Kendall and Cassandra. Rochelle's beauty and grace will be missed by all who knew her. Her spirituality has guided her to a safer, sacred space in God's embrace. Rest in peace, Rochelle. The family would like to thank Hospice, who provided incredible care with kindness and forethought. If donations are to be made in Rochelle Wisner's name, her favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Allen United Methodist Church in Bow, WA on December 2nd, 2023 at 11a. m.Show more
