In Loving Memory Arnold M. LoVine February 20, 2024 Arnold Merton LoVine 87, passed away on February 20, 2024. He was born on October 21, 1936; the son of Adolph and Alta (Godfrey) LoVine. He had one brother, Alan who died last year on March 13,2023. He is survived by well over a dozen cousins, Arnold spent his life living between Florida, Oswego, NY and the Carolina’s. Both as a hobby and employment Arnold was an experienced mechanic. Arnold worked in the ship yards in Jacksonville Florida, a heavy equipment mechanic, a boat mechanic in Oswego, and he also worked on farm equipment. His hobbies included working with race cars, full size and miniature airplanes, motorcycle trikes, and just about anything that had an engine. Arnold and a friend even came up with a quick change unit to be used on the props on air boats. There was a period of time when he raised Saint Bernard dogs. One of his dogs was even used in the Black Velvet Whiskey commercials circa 1970. Arnold was well liked and will be missed by those that new him. Graveside Services and Spring Burial will be held in Martville Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. Mexico, NY. In Loving Memory Gary A. Skinner February 6, 2024 Gary A. Skinner, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024. Gary was a great family man and a loving father and grandfather. He was born on November 12, 1944 to Charles and Mary Metott Skinner. Gary attended Camden Central Schools. He was married to Alberta Houghton in 1970, divorced in 1992 and remarried in 2007 to Linda Collins of Arkansas, until 2013. Gary lived in North Bay, NY for most of his life. He was a Fire Fighter in the North Bay Fire Dept. since 1962, where he remained an active member. He held many positions within the department, serving as Chief, Assistant Chief, Chaplin, President, Safety Officer, along with many others. He was a 62-year active Life Member. In 1972, Gary became an Advanced EMT, becoming one of the first EMT’s in the North Bay Fire Department. He worked for the McConnellsville Volunteer Ambulance Service for 18 years. Gary leaves his favorite saying to the Fire Department, “Always move forward and never look back.” Gary is survived by his son, Andrew (Jackie) Skinner, of Blossvale; daughters, Katrenia Larkin, of Oneida and Tracy Bach of McConnellsville; his siblings, pre-deceased, Charles (Chucky) Skinner survived by wife, Diane; brothers Terry (Kathy) Skinner, David (Margaret) Skinner and sister, Donna Skinner; nine grandchildren; 16-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Gary worked for multiple companies throughout the years, working in Construction, Upholstery and at Wire Mills. He was a man of many talents, always giving time to his friends, his family and his community. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Leon was born in Phoenix, NY, he was the son of Leon D. and Lillian (Stoutenger) Heagle. Leon served in the United States Army for 6 years. He was employed by Carrier for 30 years. After retiring, Leon served as the Mayor of the Village of Parish from 1997 – 2013. Leon was a member of the Parish Volunteer Fire Department for many years, as well as a member of the Parish United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and the VFW. Leon was devoted to, and loved spending time with his family, especially any nieces and nephews that he could give noogies to. Leon was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Leon “Bo” is survived by a brother Edwin “Ted” (Marilyn) Heagle of Corning, a sister Linda Heagle of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by: his wife Susanne (Hall) Heagle, his brothers Elwin “Bucky” Heagle and “Gordy” Heagle, and a nephew Taylor Sheridan. Funeral services will be celebrated at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024 from the Parish United Methodist Church of Parish, NY. John J. Wright, 83, of Parish, passed away peacefully on January 12th, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family after two years in hospice care and family caring for him at home. John was born in Ogdensburg NY on August 18th , 1940 to Margaret C. Wright. He was a graduate of Sandy Creek Central School. He retired from Coopers (Crouse-Hinds) as a sergeant over the guards. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed talking with anyone he met. He was an avid bowler, accomplishing several 300 games. He enjoyed sports, the Adirondacks, Lake George, and traveling with family. He married his wife, Beverly J. Haynes, on November 5th , 1960 and they enjoyed 63 years of love. John and his wife raised four children. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children James J. Wright and wife Louise Wright of Parish; Tammy S. Wright of Pulaski, Timothy J. Wright and wife Lisa Wright of Chicago Heights, and John J. Wright Jr and wife Jennifer Wright of Parish. His grandchildren James J. Wright Jr wife (Rose), Tanya Silvernail (Wright), April Wright, Christopher Wright wife (Alana), Timothy Wright wife (Maggie), Joseph Wright, Ryan Wright, Jeremy Wright, Brendon Wright fiancé (Cailee), Austin Wright wife (Ashley), Lyndsay Wright, Ashley Wright, Madison Wright, Savannah Wright, Mckenzie Wright, Kailey Wright. Great Grandchildren Cameron Wright, Trista Wright, Benjamin Wright, Tyler Silvernail, Cassie Silvernail, -Chase Silvernail, Timothy Wright (TJ), Claire Wright, Katelin Wright, Lincoln Craig, and Axel Wright. Calling hours will be held at Traub Funeral Home in Central Square from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM with a service officiated by Pastor Cathy Hamilton at 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 18th . A private graveside service will be held in the spring at Pulaski Village Cemetery. In Loving Memory Mark E Bailey Born August 26, 1956 Mark passed away January 7, 2024. He leaves behind his wife of 40 years Margaret (Peggy) Bailey, his daughter Meagan Frank and her fiancé Justin Seamans, his beloved granddaughter Lainey Frank, and a daughter from a previous marriage Jennifer Bailey. He also had one surviving sister Margie Hastings. Mark served his community with pride. He was a member of the Altmar Fire Department for 44 years. In previous years he volunteered for NOCA ambulance service and was a scuba diver for the Oswego county dive rescue team. Mark retired from a long career at the Oswego county highway department in 2012. He truley enjoyed his lengthy retirement. Craig was an avid hunter, boater, fisherman and enjoyed camping with his family. Freebird, as he was known on the road, loved being on his motorcycle in the wind... In his hell raising days Craig was an extremely talented guitarist and singer. He played numerous venues over the years and had a faithful following. Craig was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, a former Syracuse Police officer and he retired as a Master Mechanic from Huhtamaki in Fulton. Craig is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Illingworth) Boyd, his son Bob Boyd, daughter Andrea (Boyd) and Brian Fowler, step son Kyle Kahler, 5 grandchildren Braydon, Logan, Jaxson, Brooklyn and Gordon Fowler. He is also survived by his sister Donna (Boyd) and Tony Weir with several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Janet (Watkins) and Charles Boyd and his oldest son Robert Boyd Palmitesso. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from the First United Methodist Church of Mexico. In Loving Remembrance Dennis B. Truax January 6, 2024 Dennis was born on August 17, 1946. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Price) Truax, his children Dennis (Jill) Truax II, Timothy Truax, and Tanya (Michael) Twarozek, and his grandchildren Kaden Roots and Kennedy Twarozek. Dennis is also survived by his sisters Katherine (John) Myers and Brenda Truax. He was predeceased by his mother, Irene (Tom) Rathbun, father, Arthur Truax, brothers William (Carolyn) Truax and Kenneth Truax. Dennis’ legacy is also seen in all of those who sought his advice, in the children he coached in baseball, in all of the bright smiles from the young ones who never left the stand without a treat of some sort, or the neighbors he plowed out every winter. Dennis served in the Army from 1963-1966. He was stationed in Korea, but was moved throughout the region. He was also a member of the Mexico VFW. Dennis retired from the Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power Plant as well as from the Laborers Union. Although Mary never really let him have too much free time in the summer and put him to work with her at Price’s Fruit Stand. When he wasn’t working at the stand, Dennis could be found out in the barn working on a project. He could create anything with his hands. Whether he was building a new greenhouse, or a cradle for a new little one, he could do it all. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from the First Presbyterian Church of Mexico, NY. Spring Burial will be in Mexico Village Cemetery.
