Ernest John Dumont Jr. , beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend; passed away on December 2, 2023, at Queen's West Medical Center in Ewa Beach , Hawaii, with his father by his side. Ernest is survived by his father: Ernest Dumont, Sr. ; sister, Roxanne L (Dumont) Duhe; uncles, Leonard Rhodes and Patrick Suan; niece, Lela L Duhe; nephew, Jack W Duhe; and his beloved "California Family. "He was preceded in death by his mother, Corinne L (Wilson) Dumont and brother-in-law, Michael Duhe. Ernest was born and raised in Waianae, HI. He lived most of his adult life in Southern California before moving back home in 2018. He was an alumnus of Saint Joseph School and Damien Memorial School, Class of 1990. His first job was at his family's business, Leeward Shell, where he worked through high school. Followed by a long stent at House of Music in Ala Moana Center, most of his career was spent with the Fragrance Outlet and Designer Fragrance franchises. This job took him from his home in Makaha, HI, to California. He was entrusted with opening new locations up and down the California coast as well as Las Vegas, NV. Later in life Ernest experienced a career change dabbling in medical coding, meter reading, and postal work. Ernest had an eclectic love of all thing's theater arts, movies, music, and the ocean. He has never lived where he could not see the Pacific Ocean on a daily basis. If you needed to know what actor played in that one movie that no one else has ever heard of, he was the man to ask. The same goes for his love of music. Ernest started entertaining crowds through playing the piano and tap dancing with the Rosalie Woodson Dance Academy before moving on to the xylophone in his high school marching band. Playing in the marching band allowed him the privilege of performing in the Portland Rose Parade and Hula Bowl, among other events. It was Ernest's wish not to have a memorial service but to be cremated, with his ashes spread with his mothers in the Pacific Ocean. In lieu of flowers the family appreciates any donations to help with this process. Donations can be sent to Ernest Dumont Sr. , P. O. Box 324, Waianae, HI 96792.
