Christina C. Carmona, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Serenity Hospice Home in Oregon, IL. She was born in Dallas, TX, on May 19, 1933, to the late Miguel and Luz Garcia. As a young woman, she lived in Mexico, where she worked at a military hospital in the newborn unit. Christina diligently cared for both mothers and their precious newborn babies. Christina was also a talented and beautiful dancer. She danced a mix of ballet and traditional folk dances and performed in many dance shows in Mexico. Her dream was to continue working and studying to be a nurse. Unfortunately, her youngest sister, Maggie, became terminally sick with cancer while living in Chicago with their mother. Christina left her life in Mexico to support her mother & sister and made Chicago her home where she met her handsome and kind husband, Salvador. Christina worked tirelessly for her large family in the home and outside the home. She made mouthwatering, authentic Mexican meals such as enchiladas, tacos, menudo, Spanish rice, and burritos. She crocheted beautiful baby blankets for her grandchildren and friends. Christina was an animal lover and allowed her family to have many dogs and cats throughout the years which brought a lot of joy and comfort to the family. She also loved movies and she passed that love to her children and they have many fun memories of going to the theaters and drive in theaters. She had a great sense of humor and was always ready to hear a funny story and or joke and she had an infectious laugh and smile which will be sorely missed. Christina worked as a CNA for American Healthcare in Oak Lawn for many years, and also served as a home healthcare provider, helping people in the latter years of their lives. She was also known for her beautiful singing voice. Her number one joy in life was time spent with family, particularly her grandchildren. She was a great storyteller and loved sharing stories from her life as a nurse and as a young woman with her family. Christina had a great love for her Catholic faith and a deep devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe such that a few trips were made to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. December 7, 2023

On Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 9:07 PM, 11 days before Bobby 's 71st birthday, Jesus saw that Bobby was tired and too weak to fight anymore. He then whispered in Bobby’s ear - "come with me good and faithful servant. " Bobby was then reunited with all his loved ones who have gone before him. Bobby is preceded in death by his loving and devoted parents, Raymond and Rita Klimek, paternal and maternal grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles, and many friends from "The Ranch," American Legion Post 1080, and the Irving Club. Bobby 's very special friend, Matty also preceded him. He couldn't wait until Matty came over to pick him up and take him to the post to have some "shots" with the guys. Bobby is survived by his loving sister and brother, Carol and Raymie. Numerous cousins also survive him. Bobby also had many friends in Hayward, Wisconsin. Carol would take him up there on several occasions. He had a great time partying with Corky, Lobby, Shannon and Jamie. He enjoyed watching the bear cubs climbing the pine trees with mama bear keeping a close eye. Carol and I would like to thank Bobby 's Primary Care Physician, Dr. Robert S. Schubert, his Urologist, Dr. Sandeep Sawhney, and his Endocrinologist, Dr. Babak Pazooki. Special thanks to Bobby 's home health care nurse, Liz and his physical therapist, Penny. Bobby looked forward to seeing them every week. We would like to thank the very caring and professional doctors, nurses, and CNAs at Morris Hospital. He was treated like a VIP. Nurses and CNA fell in love with his blue eyes and were fighting over who was going to take Bobby home with them. Many thanks to Mr. Lawrence Waterman and his wonderful staff at the Autumn Country Club Adult Daycare Center in Joliet. Here, Bobby played games, made crafts, watch TV, and played bingo. He was always coming home with prizes for being the Bingo champion. We would like to thank a wonderful organization called "Fishing Has No Boundaries" in Hayward, Wisconsin. These people take people like Bobby fishing for three days on the Chippewa Flowage. Enough can't be said about God's Angels who work at Lightways Hospice. Naturally, after being told Bobby was near end of life and was ready for hospice, we were devastated. But after we had seen everyone in action, Carol and I were very relieved. The main goal was keeping him comfortable and relaxed. That's how he left with Jesus, very peacefully. Bobby loved his westerns on INSP. Nothing made him happier than sitting on the deck watching the birds, ducks, geese, and squirrels while smoking a WM. Penn Cigar. Bobby loved to entertain all his friends at his "party shack" on the DuPage River in Channahon. Whether It was just having a "few pops," watching football, throwing bags, or sitting by the campfire, fun was had by all. Our love and sincere thank you to the following families: the Maticic, Frankovich, Hayducak, Glenn, Waller, Eaton, Bravato, Frye, Bianco, Menegon, Bregar, Kale, Tezak, Block and Dzurko families. Our sincere thanks and gratitude to the special people for filling Bobby 's life with fun and laughter. May God bless each and everyone of you. We wish you all a joyful, safe and blessed new year. A celebration of life will be held in the spring or summer of 2024. If you would like to make a donation to Lightways Hospice , the address is 250 Waterstone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431. Per Bobby’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be held privately and he will be laid to rest with his parents at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.Show more

Together, she and Ed successfully owned and operated several locations of the popular restaurant, Maryland Fried Chicken. She and her daughter, Stephanie, also owned Simply Delicious Catering in the 90’s. After retiring from the restaurant business, her intellect, expertise, and quick wit helped her gain employment at Harrah’s Casino as a craps dealer. On any given Saturday, you could walk into her home and hear the New York Philharmonic Opera on the radio, the Cubs game on the TV, and Diane-simultaneously completing the New York Times crossword puzzle and a jigsaw puzzle on the table. She also enjoyed sitting in her sunroom and watching the birds in her garden and walking her dog on the I&M trails. The oldest of five children, Diane was a "force to be reckoned with" and was lovingly called "The General" by her siblings. She was compelled to succeed at anything she put her mind to. She had strong opinions and was never one to hold back in expressing them. She was a fiercely independent and strong woman whose legacy will continue to be an inspiration to her family.
