Chris Allen Joseph Assavedo, Sr. , 68, a native of St. Bernard, Louisiana and resident of Labadieville, Louisiana passed away on August 30, 2023. A visitation will be held in his honor on Friday, September 8, 2023, Landry's Funeral Home, Labadieville, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with the Prayer Service to be held at 5:00pm. The burial will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, Saint Bernard, Louisiana on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:00am. He is survived by his parents, Janet Kaufman, Michael Kaufman, Shirley Assavedo; sons, Chris Allen Joseph Assavedo Jr. (Staci), Chad Allen Joseph Assavedo Sr. (Crystal), Chet Allen Joseph Assavedo (Dixie); daughters, Chantel Marie Assavedo, Chelsea Marie Assavedo Langford (Sean); brothers, Travis Kaufman, John Button Bruno, Eric Assavedo, Toby Assavedo, Troy Assavedo, Scott Assavedo; sisters, Marilyn Assavedo, Michelle Kaufman Dippold; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Ann Blanchard Assavedo; father, Alexander Joseph Assavedo, Sr. ; brothers, Michael Kaufman, Jr. and Alexander Joey Assavedo, Sr. ; sister, Tina Assavedo. Chris was the life of the party. He loved music, dancing, making people laugh, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed being out in nature, especially on the water. He was a jack of all trades. He believed in working hard and put his all into everything he did. He dedicated his life to providing for those he loved. He provided a safe haven for many, blood related or not. Chris made sure you were surrounded by good music and lots of laughter. He refused to be considered old but instead wanted to be remembered as a finespecimenofaman. Chris was happily married to his childhood sweetheart for 50 years. She was the light of his life, and he spent their years together spoiling her as much as he could.
