Chew Ng Obituary

Chew Wing Ng (also known as "John or Johnny") passed away in his sleep at home on Friday, April 21, 2023, in Stamford, Connecticut. He was born on October 14, 1933, in Guangzhou, China. On September 7, 1963, he married Mariann Y. Der in Chicago, Illinois after a brief courtship. Together they raised their family in Stamford. He made his living working in the restaurant business as a waiter, then worked his way up to become a manager for most of his life before retiring. In his retirement, he traveled to many places and spent a lot of time at the senior center as well as with his family. Chew Wing had a love of fine automobiles and enjoyed playing pool and table tennis. Survivors include his wife Mariann, his three daughters, Desiree and Paul Li of Bartlett, IL, Jessica and Rudy Lee, Audrey Ng and one son, Kevin Ng all residing in Stamford, CT, three grandchildren: Ryan, Jordan and Sean and his sister Ye Ai Li. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Soon Taink Der, and one brother Nei Wing Eng. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 10 to 10:40 a. m. at , 104 Myrtle Ave. , Stamford, CT 06902. Burial service at 11:00 a. m. at , 41 Hecker Ave. , Darien, CT 06820.
