Betty Lou Payne went to be with her Lord and Savior early Monday morning. She was surrounded by her dearest loved ones in her final days. Betty loved her church, taking care of her beautiful yard, talking for hours on the phone with loved ones, and all her family. She was the matriarch of her family and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Payne; four brothers, Pete Jr. , John, James, George Lowrey; and her parents, Pete Sr. and Clara Lowrey. Betty is survived by her son Carl Coleman and wife Vanessa of Ralls, stepson Larry Payne and wife Tracy of Longview; her grandchildren, Jacqueline L McKoin and husband Keith of Bastrop, Callie Cortez and husband Kristian of Lubbock, Jessie Brown of Ralls, Kimberly Turner and Kyle Payne; her great grandchildren, Pacen Lee Moore, Carlie Jane Coleman, Alexa Brown and Dalton Brown. She also leaves her loving nephews, Anthony and Perry Lowrey and other nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friends; Lu Ella and Willard, Albert and Nelda Balderas, and many more special friends. Daniel Arroyo

Daniel Arroyo, AKA Big D (to his family) 77, of Crosbyton, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at his residence. He was born July 17, 1946 in Sinton, Texas to Luis Arroyo and Leonora Olivarez Arroyo. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be missed dearly by his family. He married Carmen Rivas on May 9, 1988 in Lubbock. Daniel worked for Felix West Paints for over 20 years, and then drove a truck for Labatt Food Service until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and riding around in his golf cart. Daniel is survived by his wife, Carmen, of Crosbyton; three daughters, Deborah Arroyo of Lubbock, Danette Arroyo of Corpus Christi, TX and Irene Fira of Crosbyton; two sons, Rene Bustamante of Crosbyton and Rudy Bustamante of Lubbock; three brothers, Juan Arroyo and Luis Arroyo, II both of Crosbyton and Salome Arroyo of Bastrop, TX; one sister, Susanna Arroyo of Crosbyton; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Arroyo and Leonora Olivarez, a brother Genaro and a sister Maria. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton. Funeral Service will be 3 PM, Friday, December 1, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton with Rev. Manuel Guerrero Jr

Manuel V. Guerrero was welcomed into the arms of our loving Father on November 14, 2023 while surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Sinton, Texas on January 9, 1957 to Manuel and Eulalia Guerrero. Manuel spent most his life in Crosbyton and was a person with a big heart and had love for everyone. He was always willing to help those in need and never met a stranger. Manuel was a hard worker; he worked at the Seed Company for 20 plus years and was a great provider for his family. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns, but his biggest love was for his three daughters and his grandchildren. He loved every minute he got to spend with them and always made sure there was never a dull moment while he was around. Manuel also had a passion for music and hanging out with his brothers while cooking out. Manuel will be dearly missed by his friends and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother David Guerrero. Those left to cherish his memories are; his significant other BJ (Billie Jean) of Crosbyton; his three daughters, Michelle Young and husband Eric, Missy DeLeon, Breanna Guerrero and Nick all of Lubbock; his sons, Michael and Sonny Guerrero of Lubbock; his brother, Ricky Guerrero and wife Sylvia; his sisters, Emilia Guerrero, Yolanda Hickman, Susan Garza and husband Ramiro all of Crosbyton; and 5 grandchildren. Billy "Bill" Fletcher Burgess was born April 28, 1938 to the parentage of Larry Don Sr. and Amelia Burgess in Kosse, Texas. Bill attended school in Kosse, Texas. He later moved to California for 20 years and worked as a landscaper. Bill then moved back to Texas and worked for the city of Houston up until retirement. Due to health conditions, he then moved back to the Crosbyton-Lubbock area. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Don Burgess Jr. , and Eugene Burgess, and one sister, Erma Jean Burgess. Bill leaves behind two sons, Torrence Manley and Brandon Burgess of Houston; three sisters, Lillian Burgess Moore of Crosbyton, Elsie (Cecil) Clark of Lockney, and Jimmie Mae Lang of Lubbock; one brother, Ocie Burgess of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Torrence Manley Jr and Torrae Manley. James Franklin Gillon of Ralls passed away Sunday October 22, 2023 at the age of 62. He was born December 20, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to Walter Ellis and Mary Evelyn Priddy Gillon. Jimmy had an overwhelming love for his Lord and Savior Jesus and left behind a beautiful legacy of steadfast faith. Jimmy showed his fierce love for family and friends by serving them in any way he could, especially fixing things. Home Depot is going to miss him! As much as he loved the beach and water, his favorite times were spent with the people that called him Pappaw. He was Pappaw to 4 grandchildren: Brooklynn, Waylon, Gracelyn, and Stetson; Dad to Brittany Stubblefield; brother to Suzanne Comer and Jill Calderon; and Brother Jimmy to many, many friends. Ruby Simmons

Age - 100

Ruby was the seventh of nine children born to Charles E. and Mable E. Rowse in Mt. Blanco, Texas on October 7, 1923. All her siblings have preceded her in death. She married her high school sweetheart, Cleo Simmons, on May 20, 1939. They were both 15 years old. Ruby and Cleo worked on the farm and cared for the livestock. Ruby taught Sunday School in Muleshoe, Crosbyton, and Ralls for over 60 years, including teaching a few of her grandchildren. For over 30 years, she taught Sunday School in both the Crosbyton and Ralls nursing homes. In 1962, at the age of 39, she attended beauty school and finished at the top of her class. She owned and operated a beauty shop, Ruby's Beauty Nook, in Crosbyton, working into her late 80s. She lost her sweetheart on Valentine's Day 2017. They were married over 77 years. She is also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Mitchell, and two great grandchildren, Ryan Parrish and Shelbi Raye McClure. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Mitchell and Ruby Kaye Dewbre and husband, Jacky Dewbre all of Crosbyton. Lovingly known as MeMa, Ruby is survived by her 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 44 great, great grandchildren, and 2 great, great, great grandchildren. William Igal

William Saleh "Bill" Igal was born March 18, 1941 in Ramallah, Palestine to Rev. Sn. Abu Igal and Victoria Daoudis Igal. He went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 15, 2023. Bill married Mary Beth Young in April 1963 in Lubbock, TX. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Texas Tech University, and a Master's Degree in Education from West Texas State University. He taught school in Hereford for many years, later moving to Lewisville to teach in The Colony, and finally retiring in Ralls in 1998. He was a member of Ralls Methodist Church and an active member of the community. In 2006, the Ralls Chamber of Commerce awarded him "Man of the Year. " In addition to his charity work, he was on the board of the Ralls Museum. He was also involved in Christian organizations including Walk to Emmaus and the Kairos Prison Ministry. Bill is survived by his wife Beth of Ralls; one son, Saleh Igal and wife Yoshiko of Irving, TX; one brother, Isam Igal; two sisters, Thelma Igal and Violet Iqal; and two grandsons, Hitoshi and Satori Igal. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Friday, September 22, 2023 at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls. Funeral service will be 2 PM, Saturday at Ralls Methodist Church with Rev. John Prestridge and Rev. Larry Bass officiating. Interment will be at the Guthrie Cemetery in Guthrie, TX. Lottie Mae Parker 84 of Crosbyton passed away September 6, 2023. Lottie was born January 6, 1939 in McAdoo Texas to Carlton Thomas and Craigy Iola Covington Holcomb; Lottie married Don Parker on February 1, 1957 in Crosbyton Texas. Lottie loved embroidery, and she loved being around children and senior citizens, she lived life to have fun and was a joy to be with. Lottie is preceded in death by; her parents, a son Terry Don Parker on March 10, 1970, and her two brothers Carl and Tiff Holcomb. Those left to cherish her memory are; her husband Don of Crosbyton, a daughter Traci De Ann Pierce, her brother George Holcomb of Amarillo, two grandchildren; Lauren De Nae Broom of Friendswood, and Thomas Lee Pierce of Friendswood. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren; Jaxson, Gunner, Cadence Broom, Blair, Parker, Laundry, and Thomas Pierce. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a. m. Friday September 8, 2023 at the Crosbyton Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday September 7, 2023 from 6:00 p. m. till 7:00 p. m. at Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
