FORT WORTH - Peggy Ann Carter Scott, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December. 7, 2023. Graveside Service: 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Greenwood Memorial Park with Reverend Robyn Michalove of First Presbyterian Church, Fort Worth officiating. Peggy was born in Fort Worth on October 22, 1928, the eldest of four sisters. She graduated from Paschal High School (as did her husband and five children) before attending TCU. She first met Claude at the age of fourteen and they married on June 27, 1947. Peggy and Claude were married 72 years before his death in 2019. She found joy as a wife and mother of four sons and a daughter and took pride in her role as a full-time homemaker. With her nurturing spirit, she was always there with a smile, a hug and a serene presence. A pillar of strength and a source of wisdom. All who knew Peggy were aware of her dedication to her God, family, and friends. A member of First Presbyterian Church, she was an active woman of faith who shared her gifts by serving as an Ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church, Session Moderator of Membership, TCU Student Outreach, Mother's Prayer Group for Deployed Soldiers, Sunday School Teacher, Moderator of the Women of the Church, Bible Leader, Archivist, 27-year Member of the Church Choir, Volunteer at the Presbyterian Night Shelter, All Saints Hospital and leader of Blue Birds and Camp Fire Girls. She and Claude loved traveling. Some of their favorite trips were to Hawaii, London, and Scotland. But most of all she cherished their family summer vacations spent in Red River, New Mexico. They were also dedicated sports fans supporting their Texas Rangers and TCU Horned Frogs. As she became a Grandmother and was blessed with each grandchild and great grandchild, she nurtured, loved and cared for them in the same way as her own children. Her home was always filled with love, music and a lot of laughter. Her legacy of joy, family and faith passed on to yet another generation. She will be dearly missed even as she remains in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank Peggy's caregivers of CareBuilders at Home and VITAS Hospice for their loving care.
