Charlotte Nelson, age 77 of Boone, died on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1328 Division Street in Boone. Charlotte Ruth (Haydock) Nelson, was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa on December 14, 1941, the daughter of Donald Robert and Doris Ruth (Cooper) Haydock. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1960. Her first job was in Iowa Falls at Hecht's art and office supplies store where she was a clerk for several years. She was a homemaker for her family, and enjoyed calligraphy, drawing, making business signs, solving cryptograms and circle-word puzzles, and she loved working picture puzzles. Charlotte is preceded in death by her father, Donald and her daughter, Sheri Kempe. She is survived by her mother, Doris Haydock of Boone; a brother, Donald J. Haydock of Sparta, North Carolina and two sons, Gene and James, one grandson, Chris Kempe, one granddaughter Jenny Kempe, one great grandson, and one great granddaughter.
