Sherry's faith and heart will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin.Sherry definitely had her struggles throughout life, but she never gave up trying. She always loved her boys, her mother, her family, and her friends. Regardless of what she was going through. That never changed. She always loved with her whole heart!She always had this amazing and crazy laugh that you knew it was her and would know it from anywhere and could hear it a mile away.She was a true friend to so many.Sherry was very good-hearted. Sherry was the daughter of Jerry and Charlotte Johnson. Sherry was the oldest of their three children. She spent most of her life in Indianapolis. Her youngest son Garrett Steinhilber with daughter-in-law Mariah Steinhilber of Indianapolis. Her only grandson Kamden Burdine of Indianapolis. Her sister Tamara Adams of Indianapolis and her brother Rick Johnson of Indianapolis. Along with many Aunt and Uncles, nieces, nephew and cousins.She is proceeded in death by her loving father, Jerry Johnson, loving grandparents Jessie Johnson and Gladiys Wright and Charles and Juanita Walton and several loving cousins.A Celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 4PM to 6PM with service at 6PMat Indiana Memorial, 3562 W 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46222.Indiana Memorial is honored to serve Sherry and her family.

Mary Lynn Walker of Indianapolis passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia, on February 22, 2024. She was born on October 24, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois to Earl D. and Helen R. Porter. The second of eleven children, she graduated from Howe High School in 1961 and General Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. She married Monte H. Walker Sr. on September 12, 1964. Mary Lynn retired from Eskenazi Hospital after 33 years of working at all levels of nursing; she excelled at nursing and was respected and admired for her dedication to her profession. A past member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and current member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church Indianapolis, she was an active choir, ensemble, and cantor member at both. She was very active in many ministries. Mary Lynn is survived by her children Dianna L. Higginbotham, Monte H. (Angie) Walker, Jr., and Nicholas H. Walker, as well as 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 9 sisters and brothers, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy Elizabeth, Monte H. Walker, Sr., and granddaughter Selene Nicole Walker. Viewing will be at Feeney Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN on Wednesday, February 28th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A graduate of Northwest High School, Sheree was employed with Royal Foods, working on the production line. On Friday, December 22, 1978, she married Jeffrey Vincent Duncan and had recently celebrated their 45th anniversary. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Sheree took pleasure in working with flowers and in quilting. Jack Edward Gilpin, 56, passed away on February 25, 2024, leaving behind memories of love and warmth that touched the hearts of all who knew him. Jack was born in Indianapolis, IN on February 22, 1968, to Edward and Madonna (Zook) Gilpin. Jack was a remarkable individual, unforgettable in every sense. His gentle demeanor and kindness endeared him to everyone he met. Despite being largely non-verbal, he possessed a unique ability to communicate effectively, often expressing his affection through hugs, thumbs up, and winks. His charm knew no bounds, and to Jack, every girl was his girlfriend. A lover of simple joys, Jack found pleasure in bowling, spending time outdoors, and engaging in activities with his family. He delighted in coloring posters and watching TikTok videos, finding joy in life's little moments. Jack was deeply devoted to his faith and was an active member of his church community. He dedicated countless hours to helping others, embodying the true spirit of selflessness. His favorite reward for his service was a meatball sub, a simple pleasure that brought him immense happiness. Jack's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory will be cherished forever. He is survived by his cousin and surrogate mother, Penny, loving cousins Herbert Demaree, Nikolaos Adkins, Robert Demaree, and Lou Demaree, special friend Julie Fore, and numerous other extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and all of his aunts and uncles. Visitation for Jack will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services.
