Charles "Chuck" Tripp, 62, died on April 9th, 2023. Chuck resided in Russellville, Arkansas, where he was above all a lifelong learner and encourager for others to learn. Whether in the church, public schools, or in a healthcare setting, he was the consummate teacher. Chuck was a 1979 graduate of Bryant High School. He held a degree in history/political science from Arkansas Tech University, and followed with Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was an ordained minister of the gospel and had a heart for missions. Chuck taught high school for Dardanelle Public School District and previously at Dollarway, Pine Bluff and Sheridan School District. He worked with Arkansas Children's Hospital for three years. Chuck's love for his students and coworkers served as inspiration for their own successes. Chuck had the uncanny ability to recognize the needs of others. Alongside his wife, their life together exemplified giving and serving. Chuck served his local church as a choir member and in seasons of teaching throughout the years (including teaching international students). He was a volunteer for VBS; most years a week of his summer break would be spent teaching children about missions. In short-term missions work, Chuck spent time in India. He shared a story of becoming critically ill while there and credited God for pulling him through. Chuck spearheaded curriculum for conversational English with Vietnamese. Recently published was his work for The Baker Illustrated Bible Background Commentary translated to Vietnamese. In this capacity, Chuck's work for the people of Vietnam will continue. In his free time, Chuck enjoyed reading political science and history. He valued experiences over possessions, which was evidenced by attending symphony and theatre. He and Teresa enjoyed traveling together and in recent years made a trek of the Arkansas State Parks. Chuck was born December 18, 1960 in Jonesboro, AR to James and Wilda Tripp. He is survived by his wife, Teresa, and his son, Joshua (Ashley). He leaves three grandchildren, Samuel, Silas, and Audrey. Visitation will be at Humphrey Funeral Home at 6-8 p. m. on Friday, April 14th. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, April 15th at First Baptist Church of Russellville with Rev. Greg Sykes and Rev. Mike Cloud officiating. In lieu of flowers, Bibles can be donated in Chuck's honor through Gideons International.
