Eunice Bauer

Eunice Bauer

Age - 86

October 26, 2023

Eunice Mae Bauer May 31, 1937 - October 13, 2023 Eunice Mae Bauer, nee Lasher, was born on the family farm in McClusky, North Dakota, on May 31, 1937, to Norman and Anna Lasher as the fifth of six children. Her youth was spent on the farm in McClusky where she was known by the nickname Tuddy, which stuck with her into adulthood. She graduated from McClusky High School with the Class of 1954. Eunice attended Minot State Teachers College where her roommate Janice Bauer introduced Eunice to her brother Arlois W. Bauer, and the real adventure began. Eunice and Arlois were married on Nov. 23, 1955, in McClusky. In 1957, the young family moved to Lebanon, Oregon. Eunice was a loving mother of four children, Michell Bauer Davidson, Gregory Bauer, Stacy Bauer Dalke, and Bradley Bauer. The group kept Eunice busy as school room mother, Sunday School teacher, scout leader, Vacation Bible School teacher, athletic booster, and more. She once worked with a group of mothers to arrange a football offensive line display made of pumpkins in her front yard in support of her team, the Lebanon Warriors. Eunice was active in her church, most recently as a member of Christ Community Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Using her talents, she served as a member of the church quilting group, making quilts for those in need around the world. She made many worship banners and liturgical paraments to beautify the church. She loved church events and always worked to make them exceptional. Eunice was happiest when surrounded by friends and family in fellowship. Her greatest joy came from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren awarded her a new nickname, Ernie, a mispronunciation of Granny. Eunice celebrated holidays with enthusiasm, always decorating her home beautifully. Her family loved her Christmas village and she committed to set it up and expand it every year for the joy of her grandchildren. She enjoyed a family game of dominos or cards around the dining room table, and was often unable to keep up with the game because she was busy preparing snacks in the kitchen. Family camping was always a summer highlight for the family, and Eunice was blessed to have a wonderful day this summer where she played with all 7 of her great grandchildren at the Oregon Coast. Eunice is survived by her husband Arlois, her children Michell (Bob), Stacy (Steve), Greg (LynnDee), Brad (Nancy), as well as 9 grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by brothers Rusty Lasher and Joe Lasher, and sister Lana Lasher Weichman. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Norma and Elaine. Services for Eunice will be held at 11AM on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Christ Community Lutheran Church, 320 Market Street, Lebanon, Oregon. If you are so moved, you may donate in Eunice's honor to CMF International for the Ukraine Medical Ministry of June Johnson or CCLC's altar guild through the Christ Community Lutheran Church's Memorial Fund. Please specify for the funds to go to either June Johnson (Ukraine Medical Ministry) or the altar guild. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Show more

Robert Zurcher

Robert Zurcher

Age - 92

October 19, 2023

Robert Daniel Zurcher May 5, 1931 - October 13, 2023 Robert Daniel Zurcher was born in Lebanon, OR to Clarence and Dorothy (Kauffman) Zurcher on May 5, 1931. He went into the Navy after High School, and was stationed in the Phillipines and Adak, Alaska. He returned to Lebanon, where he later met and married Sylvia Schnabel on February 19, 1955 in Portland. They had two children; Gary, of Anchorage, AK, and Kathy, of Bend, OR. Bob was an avid reader, welder, outdoorsman, and fix-it guy. Always a wealth of information, he regularly offered and extra hand or tool to friends/neighbors. He also had a whimsical artistic ability, as his famous shovel birds will attest to. He could always be counted on to have a listening ear and a helpful suggestion. He enjoyed many family/friends camping trips over the years, and going to Canada to visit beloved relatives in Alberta. Dad and Mom were always good sports about letting their kids bring people home for extended periods of time. Through this, we had friends that felt more like other siblings (and you all know who you are. . . ). We will all greatly miss the wonderful stories that Dad could tell, and just spending time with him in general. His wife, Sylvia, of over 50 years, preceded him in death in 2007. He is survived by siblings; Gloria Suing, Don Zurcher, and Edith James. His children; Gary Zurcher and Kathy (Zurcher) Baglien, along with Garry Baglien (son-in-law), and grandkids Ben and Miranda Baglien, Dustin Walters, and great-grandchild Lyra Baglien. As well as Sean Bradley, another family member of the heart. A memorial for Robert will be held at a later date. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Show more
