Charles Joseph "Joe" Montemurro, Age 87 of North Wildwood. Joe passed away suddenly Friday September 8, at Home. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Montemurro of Sicklerville, NJ. His brother Raymond John predeceased him. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Ann and his son Vincent and Vince's wife Gina. Joe attended Wesley College and received a BS and MS from Glassboro College (Rowan). Joe was an industrial arts teacher at the Margaret Mace School and the Atlantic County Special Services School. Joe was a member of the North Wildwood Volunteer Fire Company #1 and was most proud when he was elected to Battalion Chief. Joe also served in the National Guard. Other interests included being a member of the Pittman Hobo Band and a Football high-school Referee for the Cape-Atlantic foot ball league. A viewing will be held at Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home, 1201 Central Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ From 10 AM to 11:30 AM on Thursday September 14, 2023. James M. "Jimmy" Driadon, age 88, passed away November 18, 2023. Born in Philadelphia on September 17, 1935, Jimmy grew up in the Grays Ferry neighborhood. He resided in Southwest Philadelphia after marrying the love of his life, Patricia (Patsy) Collins. Later, they made their home in Wildwood, NJ, where they enjoyed many happy times. They celebrated over 62 years together before Patricia passed away in 2022. was also predeceased by his son, James M. Driadon, Jr Jimmy was a 1953 graduate of Southeast Catholic High School. He served in the Armed Forces of the United States from 1955 to 1957. Afterward, he worked at Gulf Oil for many years before retiring. Jimmy then worked for the City of Philadelphia Common Pleas Court as a writ server. His last and favorite job was bartending at the Greater Wildwood Elks #1896, serving beers and mixing cocktails with a welcoming smile. Jimmy was a legend in The Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association, inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1981. He started strutting in 1950 at the age of 14. Jimmy played his saxophone alongside his fellow musicians or paraded as Captain with the Greater Overbrook String Band for many decades, celebrating his 70 th year marching in 2020. In his later years, Jimmy also performed with the Cape May County String Band . Always a gentleman, Jimmy was loved and cherished by his family and numerous friends. Thomas F. Mitchell April 6, 1943 - August 26, 2023 Tom is survived by his wife, Sally. Proud dad of 3 children, Jon (Stephanie), Jennifer (Gary Duvall), and Jasen (Christy). Proud "Mot" of 8 grandchildren, Jaiden, Graysen, & Jett Duvall, Payton & Camden Mitchell, Gianna, Aiden, & Jackson Mitchell. Brother to William Mitchell (Peggy), Harry Michael Mitchell (Kathy), John Richard Mitchell (Linda), and Stanley Mitchell (Jeanne). Sadly predeceased by brothers William and Harry Michael and mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Breslin Mitchell. Survived by Uncle Frank Breslin (Nancy) and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Attended and graduated from the Wildwood Public School System and lettered in basketball, football, and track/field. Member of the U. S. Army with service in Vietnam. Graduated from Atlantic Community College and Stockton State College with a degree in Criminal Justice, and earned multiple law enforcement certificates. Substitute teacher, Assistant Coach and Referee for Basketball, Track and Field Official and Coach. Volunteer Wildwood Firefighter, Career Wildwood Policeman attaining the rank of Captain. Member of the VFW and American Legion, Warrior 50 Club and Boardwalk Basketball Classic Committee. All around great father, grandfather, and husband. Supporter of his family and the youth of the Wildwoods. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 9:30-11am, followed by a prayer service at Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home 1201 Central Avenue, North Wildwood.
