Charles Joseph "Joe" Montemurro, Age 87 of North Wildwood. Joe passed away suddenly Friday September 8, at Home. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Montemurro of Sicklerville, NJ. His brother Raymond John predeceased him. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Ann and his son Vincent and Vince's wife Gina. Joe attended Wesley College and received a BS and MS from Glassboro College (Rowan). Joe was an industrial arts teacher at the Margaret Mace School and the Atlantic County Special Services School. Joe was a member of the North Wildwood Volunteer Fire Company #1 and was most proud when he was elected to Battalion Chief. Joe also served in the National Guard. Other interests included being a member of the Pittman Hobo Band and a Football high-school Referee for the Cape-Atlantic foot ball league. A viewing will be held at Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home, 1201 Central Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ From 10 AM to 11:30 AM on Thursday September 14, 2023. Phyllis (Prete) Hanahan (86) North Wildwood. Daughter of the late Lena and Anthony Prete originally from Philadelphia, PA Sister of Peter (Pennie) Prete and Gerry (Bud) White. Phyllis was predeceased by her sons Joseph and his wife, Patricia and Kevin. She is survived by her Granddaughter Ryan and her three children, Makenna, Franco and Carter. Also survived by her nieces, Stacey Gallen, Christine Cunningham, and Jennifer Deiter; her nephews, Peter Prete, Jr. and Buddy White, and many great nieces and nephews. Phyllis was a resident of North Wildwood for 50 years. She worked at the Bristol Plaza Motel and at Wildwood City Hall. She was an active member for many years with the Deborah Hospital and the Wildwood chapter of the VFW. James Driadon

Age - 88

James M. "Jimmy" Driadon, age 88, passed away November 18, 2023. Born in Philadelphia on September 17, 1935, Jimmy grew up in the Grays Ferry neighborhood. He resided in Southwest Philadelphia after marrying the love of his life, Patricia (Patsy) Collins. Later, they made their home in Wildwood, NJ, where they enjoyed many happy times. They celebrated over 62 years together before Patricia passed away in 2022. was also predeceased by his son, James M. Driadon, Jr Jimmy was a 1953 graduate of Southeast Catholic High School. He served in the Armed Forces of the United States from 1955 to 1957. Afterward, he worked at Gulf Oil for many years before retiring. Jimmy then worked for the City of Philadelphia Common Pleas Court as a writ server. His last and favorite job was bartending at the Greater Wildwood Elks #1896, serving beers and mixing cocktails with a welcoming smile. Jimmy was a legend in The Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association, inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1981. He started strutting in 1950 at the age of 14. Jimmy played his saxophone alongside his fellow musicians or paraded as Captain with the Greater Overbrook String Band for many decades, celebrating his 70 th year marching in 2020. In his later years, Jimmy also performed with the Cape May County String Band . Always a gentleman, Jimmy was loved and cherished by his family and numerous friends. Barbara Moore

Barbara E. Moore, 82, of North Wildwood passed away Sunday, November 5th, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents Robert (Bud) & Doris Moore and her brother-in-law, Edward Gilmore. She is survived by her sister Marianne Gilmore, her Aunt and Uncle, Shirley & Jim Byrne, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara grew up in North Wildwood where she attended Wildwood High and was a graduate of Glassboro State College. She was an elementary teacher for 36 years at various schools in NJ. Her love of horses came at an early age and she became an accomplished equestrian, who competed in various locations all along the East Coast. She was an avid animal lover, especially; corgis, cats, foxes and flamingos. Barbie lived her life to the absolute fullest and her family is grateful to know that she is finally at peace. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Michael J. O'Brien, 66, of North Wildwood, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 24 2023. He was born in Philadelphia and has resided in North Wildwood for 38 years. Michael was employed by EuroFins Scientific as a technician. He spent the large majority of his time traveling all throughout South New Jersey collecting and testing water samples. He knew every road, every well, and every hotel or casino with a swimming pool. He is survived by his bothers Jim (Teresa), and Frank (Theresa), sister Eileen McHale and Sister in-law Annemarie O'Brien. He is also survived by many nephews and a niece Derek O'Brien, Sean O'Brien, Colin O'Brien, Rick McHale, Jason McHale, Gary Funaro, Tristan O'Brien, Ian O'Brien, Connor O'Brien, Erin O'Brien and Patrick O'Brien. He has many great nephews and nieces. He leaves all of us with many fond memories. A Service will be held to honor his life at the Ingersoll Greenwood Funeral Home, 1201 Central Ave, North Wildwood, NJ on Thursday November 2, 2023. Enjoyed the summers at the 15th street beach, North Wildwood, NJ and riding the tram car every Saturday night. She is survived by Denise, William, Elena, Katherine, and Alexandra and various family members. Maryellen "Marie" Gallagher, age of 94 passed away on September 2nd, 2023. daughter of the late Catherine and James Cassidy. Beloved mother of Frank Rydzewski (Mary), Thomas Rydzewski (Gina), John Rydzewski, and the late Joseph Rydzewski (Vivian). Marie was the devoted and loving grandmother of Krista, Frankie (Andrea), Joseph, Thomas, Patrick (Lynda), Sean, and great-grandmother of Kaitlyn, Adeline, and Amelia. She was the sister of the late Catherine Warner, Jim Cassidy, and Jack Cassidy. She will be greatly missed by Eileen and Frank Devlin, her many nieces and nephews, and her many kind close friends. Marie was a proud graduate of J. W. Hallahan High School. She was an active member of Wildwood Civic Club, Red Hat Ladies, Fed. of Democratic Women, Forever Young, Lazarus House, J. O. Thomas F. Mitchell April 6, 1943 - August 26, 2023 Tom is survived by his wife, Sally. Proud dad of 3 children, Jon (Stephanie), Jennifer (Gary Duvall), and Jasen (Christy). Proud "Mot" of 8 grandchildren, Jaiden, Graysen, & Jett Duvall, Payton & Camden Mitchell, Gianna, Aiden, & Jackson Mitchell. Brother to William Mitchell (Peggy), Harry Michael Mitchell (Kathy), John Richard Mitchell (Linda), and Stanley Mitchell (Jeanne). Sadly predeceased by brothers William and Harry Michael and mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Breslin Mitchell. Survived by Uncle Frank Breslin (Nancy) and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Attended and graduated from the Wildwood Public School System and lettered in basketball, football, and track/field. Member of the U. S. Army with service in Vietnam. Graduated from Atlantic Community College and Stockton State College with a degree in Criminal Justice, and earned multiple law enforcement certificates. Substitute teacher, Assistant Coach and Referee for Basketball, Track and Field Official and Coach. Volunteer Wildwood Firefighter, Career Wildwood Policeman attaining the rank of Captain. Member of the VFW and American Legion, Warrior 50 Club and Boardwalk Basketball Classic Committee. All around great father, grandfather, and husband. Supporter of his family and the youth of the Wildwoods. Margaret T. Woods, 89, of Wildwood Crest, N. J. Passed away Saturday August 19, 2023. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa. Had been a local resident until year 2012 when the family moved to their shore home in Wildwood Crest, N. J. Margaret has been retired from the Philadelphia Board of Education since 1986. She was a highly regarded reading teacher for the Philadelphia school system, perhaps the best in the country. Mrs. Woods is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald. She has one daughter, Marnie, and two grandchildren, Weston and Mckenna. Her brother, Ronald and sister, Joan are deceased. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Thursday August 24, 2023 at St Ann's Church, 2900 Atlantic Ave. Wildwood, N. J.
