Charles Mayer Obituary

Of Westmoreland County, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Born the son of the late Albert E. Mayer and the late Catherine (Wandless) Mayer. Beloved husband of Marie R. (Maringo) Mayer. Loving father of Angela (Jesse Novak) Mayer. Adored brother of Janet (Ernie) McRobie and Maryann (Tony) Randall. Uncle of Andy McRobie, Mark (Brittany) McRobie, Emily Randall, and Lydia Randall. Cherished nephew of Louis and Birdie Mayer. Chuck worked for many years for the Westinghouse plant in East Pittsburgh, then Remote Control Systems in Irwin, from which he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed taking trips to Pymatuning to hunt, fish, and spend time relaxing on his boat. Chuck will forever be remembered for his charismatic and outgoing personality. He was a member of several local volunteer fire department clubs throughout the area. Chuck leaves behind many friends he met at those establishments, and he would have loved nothing more than for all of them to raise their glass to him the next time they sit down for a drink.
