Charles Hill "Dick" King II died September 7, 2023 in Jackson, Mississippi. Dick was born in Jackson, Mississippi, December 15, 1950 to Charles Hill King and Rivers Brown King. Dick attended Jackson Public schools: Duling Elementary, Bailey Junior High, and Murrah High School. He received a B. A. degree from Millsaps College in 1972. Over the course of his career, he worked for Deposit Guaranty National Bank, Mississippi Road Supply Company, MRS Manufacturing Company, Private Investment, and was on the Jackson Ballet Guild Board of Directors. Dick is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Martha Marshall King; his sister, Rivers King Powers (Harris); his nephews, John Howard Freeman IV, Harris Frederick Powers III (Lindsay), and Charles King Powers; his niece, Rivers King Powers; his great nephews, Charles Marr King Powers, James Pitchford Powers, and Harris Frederick Powers IV; and his great niece, Elizabeth Late Powers. Dick had an abiding friendship with his brother-in-law, and they shared a mutual respect and admiration for one another. He was a beloved uncle to his niece and nephews, and he supported all of their efforts with positivity and unconditional love. He considered himself extremely fortunate to have a relationship with his grand-niece and grand-nephews, whom he adored. Dick will be long-remembered and appreciated for his love, support, compassion, kindness, and loyalty to his friends and family. There will be a graveside service at Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS 39209, Tuesday, September 12, at 2:00 PM. Services provided by Sebrell Funeral Home, Ridgeland, Mississippi. Donations may be made in memory of Dick to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745, Mississippi Food Network, Gateway Rescue Mission, or a charity of your choice.
