Charles Marvin Fuson age 81 of Pineville, KY passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Middlesboro ARH; he was born on August 31, 1942 in Bell Co, KY to the late John Will Fuson and Ollie Short Fuson; he had been a caretaker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers O. B Fuson, R. C Fuson, Parrott Fuson, J. D Fuson, Johnny Fuson and Larry Fuson; sisters Daisy Peace, Louvine Ealy, Betty Davis, Wanda Faye Blakely and Bernice Mills. Survivors include his brother Dicky Fuson and wife Jean. Per Mr. Fusons request he was cremated by Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, KY. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Fuson family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.

Kathy Taylor Elliott, age 67, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Pineville, Kentucky, received her heavenly healing on December 5, 2023. She was a member of Old Straight Creek Trinity Tabernacle in Pineville, KY. Kathy was born on October 29, 1956, in Beverly, Kentucky minutes after her twin sister, Connie. They had a special bond from the beginning and were always inseparable. When Connie passed on April 16, 2008, a void was left within Kathy that was finally filled when they reunited in heaven at the time of her passing. Kathy loved her family and her friends deeply. She had a heart of gold and was always kind to everyone. Although Kathy was not able to attend church regularly due to health reasons, she listened to the word of God and gospel singing daily. Her faith was deeply rooted in the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Opal Taylor; husband, Paul Elliott; special friend, Doug Smith; brothers, Rudy Taylor, Ronnie Taylor, Bobby and wife, Beverly Taylor, and Harold Taylor; sister, Connie Garland; brother-in-law, Jerry Emery; and nephew, George Darrin. Survivors include her daughters, Christy Elliott and spouse, Albert "Tootie" Brock, and Kayla and Caleb Johnson; grandson, Cody Smith and girlfriend, Megan Langford; granddaughters, Maddie and Lillie Johnson; expected great-grandson, Beckett Smith in March 2024; brothers, Freddie (Debbie) Taylor, and Terry Taylor; sisters, Dorothy (Steve) Emery, and Kay Emery; sisters-in-law, Geneva Taylor and Bonnie Taylor; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Wanda Neal; and the Johnson family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Stephen Miller and Dr. Malcom Foster of East Tennessee Heart consultants, primary care physician, Dr. Shane Kelley, Tennessee Cancer Specialist, UT hospice, Amedysis of Knoxville and to the staff that worked at Horizon Adult Health Care in Pineville, the many years Kathy attended. Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Grubbs and Rev. Mark Mahurin presiding. Music will be provided by Mark Mahurin and Faye Messer. Burial will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday at the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her nephews and great nephews. Lester Saylor, age 83, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at his home in Kettle Island, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 1, 1940, in Stoney Fork, Kentucky, the son of Squire and Mossie Saylor. He was one of the founders of the Stoney Fork Pentecostal Community Church and was a deacon and a teacher there. His life was dedicated to the church and those he loved. His favorite hobbies were hunting and gardening. He had been a machinist and worked in the logging industry. He is preceded in death by his parents, Squire and Mossie Saylor; infant daughter, Deloris Saylor; son, Tony Saylor; infant sister, Emma Saylor; and brothers, Soloman Saylor and Walter Saylor. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Louise Saylor; daughters, Sandra and Jeff Baker of Pineville, Kentucky, and Darlene White of Kettle Island, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Karen Sue Knuckles Saylor; son, Mark Wayne and Tonya Saylor of Calvin, Kentucky; grandsons, Brayden Saylor and Scott Hoskins; granddaughters, Brooke and Terry Bingham of Somerset, Kentucky, and Brittany and Justin Dozier of Kettle Island, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Aspyn Bingham; siblings, Joe Saylor, Shirley Brock, Charlotte Mahurin, Bonnie Mahurin, Reed Saylor, and Stanley Saylor; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Stoney Fork Pentecostal Community Church with Rev. Mark Mahurin, Rev. Hardy Franks, and Jeff Baker presiding. Dennis (Dino) Tye age 61Dennis Tye was a caring dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad Dennis Tye. Dennis left this world on Wednesday, November 28th at his home in Knoxville, TN. Dennis was born to William Scott Tye (deceased) and Ida Mae Tye (deceased) in Pineville KY. He graduated from Pineville High School in 1978 and was a very well-known and successful athlete of the proud Pineville Mountain Lions football and basketball teams. While residing in Pineville, Dennis was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church where he proudly sang in the choir. He also had a tremendous sense of humor and loved to make everybody laugh. We will never forget that beautiful smile that he always had on his face every time you saw him. Dennis always loved to sing, and he did. . . he blessed everyone around him with his beautiful singing voice. Dennis is survived by his son, Rachaad Marshay Cloud (Adrian) of Pineville, KY, and by his first wife, Tammy Wilder Roark and their children, Dennis Pierre Tye (Amy) of Harrogate, TN, Sarah Chante Mills (Justin) of Pineville, KY, and Christian William Clay Tye (Kellie) of LaFollette, TN. He also had a host of grandchildren. Dennis is from a family of 12 brothers and sisters, William Tye of Paris, KY, Betty Tye of Paris, KY, Irene Tye of Paris, KY, Melvin Wayne Griffin (Zelda) of Petersburg, VA, Priscilla Tye (deceased) of Norfolk, VA, Jonathan Tye of Midway, GA, Michael Tye (Patricia) of Lawrenceville, GA, Delilah Helms (Jeffrey) of Alpharetta, GA, Deborah Tye-Bergan (Austin) of Lawrenceville, GA, Denise Thompson (John) of Pensacola, FL, and Melvina Jones (James) of Leavenworth, KS. Betty Jo Maness Laws went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. She was born on February 15, 1935, in Rose Hill, Virginia to the late Clyde and Hattie Lee Maness. In 1965, Betty Jo graduated from Pineville school of nursing. She worked at the Pineville Community Hospital for 45 years, twenty-seven years in intensive care. Betty Jo met her husband at West Pineville Baptist church where they were members for several years. They bought a home in East Jellico and moved their membership to East Jellico Baptist Church where they were faithful members. Betty Jo was active in WMU and bible school. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Johnny Laws; the light of her life, her daughter, Vickie Lynn Bennett; siblings Kyle, Clara, Billy, Jess, Landon, Leamon, Ben, David, Dana, Jewell, and Patricia. Survivors include her sister, Carolyn (Ronnie) Gilbert; grandson Gary Wayne Bennett; son-in-law Wayne Bennett; sisters-in-law Jean Maness and Erika Maness. A host of nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home at 12 noon with Rev. Paul Anglin and Rev. Lawanda Lefevers Brock, 88 of Stoney Fork, KY passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Mountain View Nursing & Rehab Center, Pineville. She was born in Kettle Island, KY on March 1, 1935, a daughter of the late Cam and Alma Herri Lefevers. Lawanda was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. She had worked at Pineville Community Hospital for many years in the Housekeeping and Linen departments. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristen Caruso; sister Gail Brock; son in law Vernon Collett and brother-in-law, Harve Couch. Lawanda is survived by her children, Pam Collett, Michael Brock and Jana and Robert Caruso; grandchildren, Mark and Susan Collett, Heather Collett, Amanda and Jim Kaup, Abbie Wilder and Justin and Mary Caruso; great-grandchildren, Hunter Collett, Isaac Collett, Hanah Collett, Jared Moore, Allie Kaup, Alex Kaup, Jacob Kaup, Anna Wilder, Ella Caruso, Emmalynn Caruso and Ava Wilder; great-great-grandchildren, Kasen Jackson and Malakhi Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was born in Harlan on September 27, 1936, a daughter of the late Perry and Cora Hubbard Mills. She had been a homemaker. Millie Jane was a Godly woman and was a loving mother and grandmother. This is not goodbye; it is hello to heaven. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Saylor; daughter, Irene Johnson; son J. B. Saylor; grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Tracy Allen and Victoria Wilson and a host of brothers and sisters. Millie Jane is survived by her children and their spouses, Frank and Charlotte Saylor, William James Saylor, T. J. Saylor, Susie and James Brock, Sim and Angelia Saylor and Andrew H. and Bonnie Saylor; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
