Charles Flynn Obituary

"Charles James Flynn was born August 5, 1932, in Panama, Oklahoma. He died Friday, September 29, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years. Charlie was raised and attended school in Panama, Oklahoma. He was married September 11, 1954, in Panama to Velma Rowena King, which he listed as his greatest achievement. Charlie had been an ordained Free Will Baptist minister since 1950. He pastored 12 churches in Oklahoma, California, and Arkansas. He organized or assisted in the founding of three churches. Since 1951, he worked in building materials management and sales. Charlie and Velma had made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 1977. He had managed Hughes Lumber Company and Mill Creek Lumber Company. He was a 50\u0026#43; year member of United Commercial Travelers as well as a 50\u0026#43; year member of the Sebastian Masonic Lodge #706 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a faithful member of the Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, and cherished his role of "Papa" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those he leaves behind who hold many special memories include: Children; Brenda Willett, of Fort Smith Arkansas Rhonda Misee and husband Bill, of Derby, Kansas Mona Turrell and husband Mark, of Owasso, Oklahoma Terry Flynn and wife Ronda, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 14 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren And a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Grace Shirley Mahan Sisco, Stepfather Willie Sisco, wife, Velma, and stepbrother, Charles Sisco. Visitation will be held 4:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p. m. Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Willett, Dr. Craig Shaw, and Pastor Mark Turrell officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Tristin Flynn, Cory Flynn, CJ Flynn, Garrett Willett, Dax Dooley, Grayson Bearden-Willett, and Jonah Pirtle. Committal service and interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Charles' memory to the Provow Missionary Fund, c/o Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church, P. O. Box 668, Collinsville, Oklahoma 74021.
