Charles Eugene "Gene" Connell, 71, of Sale City passed away at his home in Sale City, Georgia on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 after a long illness. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15 at Sale City Baptist Church with interment in Sale City Cemetery. Pastor Tim Bozeman will officiate. Born July 26, 1947 in Sale City, Mr. Connell was the son of the late Carl Connell and Eula Mae Brown Connell. He was a member of Sale City Baptist Church. Mr. Connell was a master dog breeder, who spent 30 years developing and perfecting the Miniature Dalmatian, the only ones known to exist in the entire world. He was preceded in death by sisters, Alma Mims of Pelham and Barbara Sims of Tallahassee, FL and a brother, Earl Connell of Sale City. Survivors include six sisters, Helen Cutchens of Abbeville, AL, Doris "Dot" Tomberlin of Cookeville, TN, Vera Johnston of Warwick, Laverne Pope of Nashville, TN, Mary Alice "Lacey" Goodridge of Naples, FL, and Judy Pless of Cordele; one brother, Bill Connell of Albany; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday, February 14 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla. Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
