Charles Freddie Collins, Jr. (Bowzo) of Shannon was born on March 28, 1983 to Wilma Collins and the late Charles F. Collins, Sr. and departed this life on Friday, September 8, 2023 completing his journey of 40 years. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister: Yolanda Collins. Mr. Collins was a Brick Mason by trade. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with his game chickens. He is survived by his companion of 23 years: Tiffany A. Chavis of the home; five daughters: Cassandra Chavis (TJ) of Shannon; Hanna Collins, Hailey Collins, Makayla Collins and Ava Collins all of the home; his mother: Wilma Collins of Shannon; two brothers: Timmy Collins (Nicole) of Red Springs and Jamie Collins(Jean) of Pembroke; one sister: Lisa Blue(Timmy) of Shannon; a special cousin: "Little Rhado" as well as a special friend that was his brother: Brandon Locklear. Boles Funeral Home of Red Springs is serving the family.

Rev. Martin Luther Jacobs Jr. of Shannon was born in Robeson County on Tuesday, August 31, 1945 to the late Martin Jacobs Sr. and Eva Bowens Jacobs and born into eternity on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones, completing his journey of 78 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Henry Jacobs, Anthony Jacobs, Timothy Jacobs, Dwight Jacobs, Rev. James Jacobs, Elaine Jacobs, and Judy Oxendine. He enjoyed cleaning yards, raising a garden, cutting grass, washing cars, as well as putting up and looking at Christmas lights. Rev. Jacobs was a US Marine. He was fond of taking trips to the mountains and going on cruises. Spending time with his family as well ministering to people was his true calling. He served God by serving his fellow man. Rev. Jacobs was saved at Faith Assembly of God in St. Pauls. He served as Pastor of Lumberton First Assembly of God and Shannon Assembly of God. He also served as Assistant Pastor of Maxton First Assembly of God and Raeford Christian Center Assembly of God . He patterned his life from 1 Corinthians 11:1 Follow me as I Follow Christ. Rev. Martin leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife: Shelby L. Jacobs of 50 years; four sons: Marcus Jacobs and his wife Angela of Shannon, Rev. Jason Jacobs and his wife Amanda of Pembroke, Timmy Jacobs and wife April of Lumber Bridge and Jimmy Jacobs and wife Denise of Shannon; four sisters: Lora Locklear of Rennert, Donna Darner of Green Bay, WI, Annette Chavis of Raeford and Lisa Locklear and husband Don of Shannon; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way and as well as a host of other relatives, friends and church family. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Shannon Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Miles Judson "Judd" Hammond of Trenton, Michigan, was born on October 6, 1932 in Robeson County to the late Hartman & Eunice Hammond and departed this life on November 16, 2023 in Michigan completing his journey of 91 years. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings: Doug, Doris, Earnestine and Harry Donald. Mr. Hammond was the second born and raised on the farm in Saddletree, NC. He then moved to Michigan where he would work for Ford Motor Company for 30 years. During this time, he married the love of his life, Della Mae Neeley in 1959. From their union, they had two children: Miles Hammond Jr. and Cynthia Marie Lozon and husband Tim. They were the proud grandparents of Tim Jr. , Andrew, Joshua, Sarah and Emily and the proud great-grandparents of Liam, Harper, Sophia, Aria and Penny and two on the way as well as a host of family and friends. Upon retirement from Ford Motor Company, Mr. Hammond and Mrs. Della returned to the Carolinas to live at Ocean Isle Beach. They attended Beach Assembly of God where Miles accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of 74. He was then baptized in the Intercostal Waterways in Ocean Isle Beach. He read his bible that year from Genesis to Revelation. Mr. Hammond served his country in the Army. He was a Korean War Veteran and he served in the Combat 31st Infantry Regiment. Through the years, he enjoyed farming, family, Detroit Tiger Baseball and telling old stories to anyone who would listen. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 1-2 P. M. at Ten Mile Center Baptist Church. The funeral will begin immediately following the visitation at 2 P. M. Burial will follow in the S. A. Hammond Family Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to join the family back at the church for luncheon after the services.
