Charles C. Cochran better known as Chuck or Chug, a loving and faith-filled man, passed away on May 4, 2023, at the age of 90. Devoted and loving husband to Shirley (nee Tracey) of 70 fabulous years. Born on September 9, 1932, to the late John and Julia Cochran of Harford County. Chuck lived a life full of love, laughter, and service to his community and country. Chuck is survived by his daughter Regina and her husband Mike, son Richard and his wife Mimi, daughter Carolyn and her husband Bill, and daughter Brenda and her husband Ray. He was preceded in death by his son, the late Charles C. Cochran Jr. , and grandsons Benjamin and Raymond. A proud grandfather, Chuck leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Along with numerous other family, neighbors, and friends. Chuck served his country valiantly as a Corporal in the Army. After his military service, Chuck continued to find ways to serve his community. He owned a Citgo Service Station for 14 years in Overlea. He then worked as an Engineer for Conrail Railroad. As a member of the American Legion, Chuck continued to support his fellow veterans and their families. As a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Chuck was devoted to his Catholic faith and was known for praying for everyone he knew. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he instilled those values in his children and grandchildren. Chuck was given the honorary title of Mayor of Midnight Cove in Siesta Key, Florida. It was a testament to his love the community and its well-being. He was known for his ability to bring people together and create a sense of unity and belonging. In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed collecting baseball hats, a hobby that allowed him to connect with others and share stories. He also found joy in feeding the squirrels much like his dad Chuck was an avid player of dominos and poker, often hosting game nights with family, friends, and neighbors. His love for games brought people together and created lasting memories for all who knew him. A lover of all things festive, Chuck eagerly anticipated St. Patrick's Day and the 4th of July each year. He also enjoyed dressing up as Santa for his grandchildren, and many others during the holiday season. He had a knack for making every occasion special, and his family will cherish those memories for years to come. Chuck was known for his love of hosting cookouts, and crab feasts. He would gather with family, friends, and neighbors to share good food and good company. His backyard barbecues were legendary, and he took great pride in having family, neighbors, and friends around. A loving father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor, Chuck will be remembered for his ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He never met a stranger. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice in Chuck's memory. Friends and family are invited to gather at Evans Life Celebration Home, 8800 Harford RD. , Parkville, Maryland 21234 on Friday, May 12th from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM with a Rosary service starting at 7:30 PM, with a visitation to share stories, memories, and prayers in honor of Chuck. A funeral mass will be held at St. Marks Catholic Church, 2407 Laurel Brook Rd.
