Funeral mass will be 10 AM Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.Ramona was born on January 30, 1937, in Marfa, TX to Maria Rivas Rodriguez & Juan Rodriguez. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She graduated from Knott as the valedictorian. She had her associates of nursing from Howard College as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked over 30 years at Big Spring State Hospital. She loved cats, and her favorite was Tilly.Ramona is survived by her sister: Mariana Castillo (Hernando) of Rochdale, MA, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.In addition to her parents, Ramona was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Concepcion Ayala & Merced Valdez; and 4 brothers: Pedro “Pete” Rodriguez, Raymundo Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Jr. & Richardo Rodriguez.A special thanks to all the staff of Home Hospice & Companion provided by Chris Camacho & her team and Legion of Mary at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Pauline Eleanor Frerich nee Halfmann beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away at her Spring Branch home on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the age of 88.Pauline, better known as “Polly” by family and friends was born near Olfen, Texas on August 3, 1935. She was the third of seven children born to the late Henry and Elvira (Lange) Halfmann. She attended St Joseph’s Catholic School in Rowena. Pauline married Monroe Frerich in El Paso, Texas on April 11, 1955.After spending two years with her husband in Hawaii the couple moved back to their hometown of Rowena, Texas and then on to San Antonio, Texas where they raised their family. In 1967 they started Monroe Industries Inc. Pauline was an integral part of the building and success of the company. She spent the next 32 years as the office manager, bookkeeper, purchasing agent, NC programmer, and forklift operator as well as running daily operations. After 45 (+) years of hard work, Pauline retired to spend time with her family.In Pauline’s leisure time she enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as her trips to Las Vegas playing black jack and slots. She enjoyed traveling extensively through Europe, South America and the Caribbean. At home, she loved to play Spinner dominoes, better known as “Grandma Always Wins” with the family, and playing Bunco with the ladies in the neighborhood.Pauline is survived by her husband Monroe, five children and spouses: Ronald Frerich (Deborah), Duane Frerich (Debbie), Denise Schaetter (Joe), Randall Frerich (Rosella) and Janet Frerich. Eight grandchildren: Nicole Goszyk (Kyle), Jennifer Frerich, William Frerich (Brianna), Matthew Frerich (Brandi), Bradley Frerich, Alex Schaetter, Amanda Frerich and Kathryn Sipe (Collin). Seven great-grandchildren: Greyson and Gavin Goszyk, Brayden and Rylee Ann Frerich, Carson Frerich, Christian and Caeden Sipe. Charles Coleman Briggs, 83, of Big Spring, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at his residence. Viewing will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 2pm-4pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. He was born July 9, 1940 in San Angelo, Texas. His parents were Lazell and Claude Lovvorn. He graduated high school from Big Spring High School. Charles was a welder and had owned Briggs Muffler Shop for many years. He married Gaylia Marie Land May 28, 1976 in Big Spring at the First Church of the Nazarene. He was very talented with his hands building with wood and metal. He was a close family man. He loved to jitter-bug and dance. He is survived by his wife Gaylia of Big Spring and a half-sister Mildred Mixon and many first cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lillie Pollock and husband Darrell. He was adventurous, outgoing, and funny. In his youth he was known to be athletic and good at sports.
