Charles R. "Chuck" BowieSunrise 4/11/53 -Sunset 5/7/23The dash in between is all that matters. The dash represents family and friends who have loved and have been loved. The dash represents camping trips, poker, Harley rides, cookouts, helping others, laughing, crying, being scared, being brave, Doodle, hunting and fishing. My hopes for the reader is to live life by the dash. God only knows when our last day will be, so pet a dog, say "I love you", get outside, give hugs and handshakes, get that tattoo, listen to good music like Tanya Tucker and walk each other home. I'll see you when you get here. Even though I bought flowers for Penny every Valentine's Day, I never cared much for them. He is survived by his wife of 49 and a half years, Penny Robinson Bowie; three daughters, Kelly (Mike) Hearn, Missy Bowie Taylor (fiance Chris Noland), and Rita(Bill) Cotton; six grandchildren, Chelsea (Michael) Jewell, Mikayla Hearn, Marly (Anthony) Roberts, Louis Charles "Bub" Taylor, Ashley Cotton, and Addison Cotton; three great-grandchildren, Avery Jewell, Layne Roberts, and Eli Jewell; two brothers, Jim (Jeannette) Bowie, and Gene (Eleanor) Bowie; two sisters, Carol Hysell, and Joan (Doug) Smith; two sisters-in-law, Pat Bowie, and Claudette Bowie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Terry Bowie, Sr. , and Don Bowie, and one sister, Joyce Ann Henderson. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11 A. M. at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV. Friends may call from 3 to 8 P. M. Thursday and from 10 to 11 A. M. Friday at the funeral home.
