Jonesboro- Charles Dale Wright, 85, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born April 25, 1933 in Weiner to the late Clarence Edward Wright Sr. and Sally Elizabeth Walton Wright. Dale retired after sixty years from Central Chevrolet Company where he was a salesman. He had won numerous sales awards during this time. Earlier years he owned and operated a service station. He loved cars, especially Cadillacs. He was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he was the head usher for many years. He always had a smile on his face and a hand out to shake. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and affectionately referred to as "Papaw" and a friend to many. He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Loretta Jean Wright; two sons, Charles Dale "Chuck" Wright Jr. (Deborah Ann) of Franklin, Tenn and Kevin Lee Wright (Alean) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Charles Aron Wright (Kelly), Justin Blake Wright (Lacy), Amber Bond (Adam) and Autumn Estrada (Ramon); great-grandchildren, Peyton Bond, Gray Wright, Spencer Bond, Noble Wright, Lincoln Estrada, Charles Aron Wright Jr (Chachi); brothers, J. D. Wright of Jacksonville, FL and Larry Wright of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Laura Beth Jarrett of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews; and along time friend Paul McKnight. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Wright and Donald Wright. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Monday, February 18, 2019 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2201 S. Culberhouse Street in Jonesboro with Rev. Billy Vanderbilt officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Lasting memorials may be sent to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
