Charlene Threet Jan. 10, 1921 - July 3, 2017 Private cremation rites for Charlene GwinThreet, 96, of Coos Bay will be held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay. Charlene was born Jan. 10, 1921 in Sheridan, Ark. , to Judd and Leona Gwin. She passed away July 3, 2017 in Coos Bay. Her early years were spent in Arkansas where she graduated high school in 1940. Charlene and Monroe were married in 1951 and decided to move to Coos Bay. In their 66 years together, they raised their family here and enjoyed what the Bay Area had to offer. She worked at various jobs, ending up at Troutman's Emporium in Pony Village, where she made many lifelong friends. After retirement, Charlene and Monroe enjoyed as much traveling, camping and fishing as they could, most times with family or friends joining them. Charlene was a good person, a great wife and mother and had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be dearly missed and always loved and remembered. She is survived by husband, Monroe Threet; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Sharon Threet; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Rubow and Lucille Kanui-Morris, all of Coos Bay; and granddaughter, Timie Rubow of Las Vegas, Nev. She was preceded in death by her sons, Donnie Rubow in 2016, and Steven Threet in 2017; and niece, Harriet Hollenbeck in 2017. Arrangements are under the care of Coos Bay Chapel, 541-267-3131.
