Cesar Martinez, age 45, of Fountain, Colorado passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023. Cesar Martinez passed away on September 22, 2023, in Fountain, Colorado at the age of 45. Cesar was born on August 2, 1978, in Laredo, Texas. Cesar enlisted in the U. S. Army in May 1997. He attended Airborne school and was further stationed in North Carolina. This is where he met his first wife Victoria and started a family. For over ten years they raised their three children across four duty stations, various overseas tours, and deployments. While their marriage wouldn't last forever, they remained close and continued to co-parent. In 2015, while stationed in Kuwait, Cesar met his second wife, Berta. Cesar retired from the Army in May 2017 out of Fort Bliss, Texas with 20 years of service and multiple combat tours. He was incredibly proud of his military service and even more so of being a paratrooper. After retirement, he supported his wife's military service and helped raise his two stepdaughters as they moved to three different duty stations. He was known to many for his lighthearted nature and charismatic persona. Cesar loved fishing and being outdoors, but most of all he cherished family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and son. He is survived by his wife, Berta, his children, Victoria (Yvette), Liliana (Lili) and Cesar Jr. (CJ), and his stepdaughters, Lauren, and Leila. As well as his mother, Blanca, and his four brothers, Alberto Jr. , Eric, Alexis, and Anthony. Services will be held on October 10, 2023 at 4PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in San Antonio, TX with burial on October 11, 2023 in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

JACK L. MCKINNEY, CMSGT USAF RET. January 22, 1932 - November 18, 2023 Jack passed away on Saturday, November 18, after a short decline in is health. He was a 60 year resident of Colorado Springs. Jack was born in Madison, MO to his parents Charles and Flossie (Lepper) McKinney. He grew up in Ferguson, MO and graduated from Ferguson H. S. in 1949 where he was Senior Class President. He married Lillian A. Richner on June 5, 1954 in Port Austin, Michigan. Jack is survived by three sons, Dennis (Cornelia), Douglas (Karen), and Robert (Brenda), his five grandchildren Corinne Powers (Loren), Jaclyn McKinney, Jayme Broadnax (Matt), Kelsey McKinney and Trevor McKinney, three great grandchildren, Precious, Aria and Cassius Broadnax, his sister Fran Rapp of Holden, MO as well as many nieces and nephews. Lil, his wife of 66 years, two daughters Debra and Donna, his parents, brother Robert and sister Sue preceded him in death. His Air Force career took him to tours of duty in Texas, Mississippi, Missouri, 2 tours in Michigan, West Virginia, 2 tours in Alaska, North Dakota, Goose Bay Labrador and 2 tours in Colorado. He was selected Alaskan Air Command Outstanding Airman of the year, was nominated for CMSGT of the Air Force in 1973 and received many awards and decorations. He retired in 1975 while stationed with Headquarters NORAD. After retirement he was Director of ANMAC Corporation and a General agent for Academy Life Insurance Company, Manager of Heritage Park Senior Condominium Complex, volunteer with the Peterson Air and Space Museum as Director of Archives and was listed in "Who's Who in the West" 1984-1986. Jack was a life member of the NCOA, the Air Force Association Peterson Air and Space Museum Foundation and a member of the American Legion, Retired Enlisted Association and the Armed Forces Top Enlisted Association. Jack was a loving father, grandpa, Papa and great grandfather (Papa Pizza), brother and uncle who will be missed by family and friends. A memorial service is planned for December 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Raphael Episcopal Church, 802 Leta Drive with the Rev. Chris DeVore presiding. Inurnment will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at a future date. Patrick Mark Holladay, son to the late Madeline Valine Holladay and Pasqual Mario DeLuna Sr, was born November 9, 1942 as Pasqual Mario DeLuna jr. in San Jose, California. Being raised in large Italian/Portuguese families that his parents were a part of and his memories of that were happy. In his teenage years, he was raised as an Army brat thus enabling him to see and experience other regions. In 1959, at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he met Stephanie Lee Benton while in high school. They dated until she graduated. In 1961, they reconnected in California. On August 21, 1965, he married Stephanie. In 1964, he found his calling and joined the military. His journey started with the United States Marine Corp as a reserve. In 1967, he joined the United States Army as a Warrant Officer and conducted his flight training for helicopters in Texas and Alabama. His primary aircraft would be the CH-47 Chinook. He truly liked flying. In January 1993, he retired from the Army achieving the rank of Major. He went on to work for the Phil Long dealerships for 20 years before finally retiring. He shared his life with Stephanie and his three children, Douglas, Elysse, and Christopher. On Sunday, October 29, 2023, the Lord touched his soul and he passed from this world. He leaves behind his wife, three children, seven grandchildren, and a treasure trove of memories to share with smiles and laughter and maybe a tear or two.
