Edna Earle was the middle daughter of three children born to Edna Thompson Lane and Henry Coleman Lane of Silver Creek, MS.A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Mendenhall City Cemetery. There will be a visitation for the family to receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 PM at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS. Bro. Larry Pate will officiate the service.Edna Earle was a graduate of Silver Creek High School and Co-Lin Junior College. In 1950, she married Charles F. Guynes, and they made their home in Raymond, Hazlehurst, and lastly in Mendenhall.Edna Earle was employed as office manager for thirty-one years by the MS State Department of Health at the Simpson County office.She was the mother of two daughters, Gale Guynes and Patti Neely (Randall), a grandson, Ryan Neely (Angie), and a great-grandmother to Conner Neely and Cooper Neely.Edna Earle was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Guynes; her parents, Henry and Edna Thompson; and her two sisters, Sue Mahaffey (Paul) and Ramelle Moody (Robert).

Mr. Barney L. Bairfield, 82, peacefully left his earthly home on Friday, February 2, 2024. Barney was born on January 25, 1942, the oldest son of Leslie "Duck" Bairfield and Hilda Rae Welch Bairfield. He was a lifelong resident of Simpson County and a member of Jupiter Baptist Church.Barney attended Pinola High School where he was a member of the football and basketball teams. Upon graduation in 1960, he began a career in construction. Through his hard work and determination, he became a well-respected and successful business owner of Hemphill Construction.One of Barney's hobbies was car racing. For years he traveled across the South competing as a driver in the drag racing circuit. Being a businessman with a great passion for racing, he had a vision to bring fun, family entertainment to Simpson County. In 1990, his vision became a reality when he opened the gates of Simpson County Motorsports Park. Some years later, he acquired and reopened Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, MS.Upon retirement, Barney enjoyed many years traveling across the country with his loving wife, Barbara. The two of them made many friends and wonderful memories in their travels together. When at home, he could be found sitting on his back porch alongside Barbara.Barney is survived by his loving, devoted wife Barbara Ann Mott Bairfield, daughters Donna Massey, Melissa (Jack) Torrence, Michelle (Tom) Brooks, sons, MIchael (Holly) Bairfield, Barney "Lee" Bairfield, Jr. He was beloved Pappy to Kristin (Donald) Berry, Karli (Davis) McGinnis, Justin (Stephanie) Waltman, Jamie (William) Lake, Brittney Bairfield, Brennan Bairfield, Barney "Leebo" (Lauren) Bairfield, III, Conner (Candace) Bairfield, Kaylee (Jose) Silvan, Ty (Tiffany) Brooks, Valorie (Casey) Barlow and 21 great grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers, Leslie Bairfield, Bobby Bairfield and Earnest Bairfield.Barney is preceded in death by his father, Leslie "Duck" Bairfield, mother, Hilda Rae Welch Bairfield, and brother Charles Bairfield.Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 6, at the funeral home officiated by Bro. Danny Powell and Bro. Roger Lee. Interment will follow at Jupiter Cemetery.

She was a graduate of Mendenhall High School. She married John R.(Ricky) Bailey on June 7, 1990.She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She worked many years in Mendenhall, which included time as the librarian and retiring from the Circuit Clerk. She loved time with her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, she was their biggest fan in the crowds. She was always up for a shopping day, road trips with Ricky just for a bite to eat, planning beach trips, Christmas, and all things Christmas.Survivors include her spouse, John R. Bailey; brother, David F. He was the second of five children born on April 25, 1972, to William Stremke III and Kaye Kavadas Stremke in West Bend, Wisconsin.Andrew graduated from Clinton High School. He retired from a career working for the State of MS Military Department after serving over twenty-five years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gaming, was an avid Star Trekkie and loved all things Star Wars. He had a very loving heart and was very honest and trusting. He is survived by his father, William Stremke III and mother, Kaye Stremke; brothers, William Stremke IV (Melissa), Carter Lee Stremke (Katie); sisters, Wendy Royer (Shawn), Melissa Pearce (Jay); four nephews and seven nieces.Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Overflow Church from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. He was born on Sunday, May 1, 1938, the only child of George and Margie Berry. He graduated Mendenhall High School in 1957 and attended Copiah Lincoln Community College where he played football. George became a salesman for Inland Container Corporation where he made many friends while designing and selling boxes for produce growers. His favorite pastimes were talking with friends and spending time on his farm where he raised Hereford cattle for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Margie Berry; father-in-law, Garrett P. Mullins; mother-in-law, Quay Mullins; brother-in-law, E.C. Mullins. Survivors include his wife, Dora Ann Mullins Berry; daughter, Regina Evans and son-in-law, Byran Evans; grandchildren, Mary Ann Brown (Mike Brown) and Allison Evans (Mark Pankratz); great- grandchildren, John Byran Eason, Cooper Brown, and Evan Pankratz; brother-in-law, Marshall Magee; sister-in-laws, Carolyn Magee and Sharkey Mullins. A private family graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mendenhall. Ronald Warren Brown, age 89, passed away on January 18, 2024, after a long illness with Parkinson’s and kidney disease. Ronald was born January 6, 1935, to his parents, Warren Brown and Myrtle Kemp Brown, in Panama City, FL. He was employed by Pan American Petroleum when he moved to Magee, MS, where he met and married Linda Runnels Brown, his wife of 63 years. In later years, he became an insurance agent and worked for several companies before retiring in 1997.Ronald graduated from Bay High School in Panama City and attended Lamar Tech University on a football scholarship. A born athlete and lover of the outdoors, Ronald also played baseball for a semi-pro team in his hometown. In his senior years, he discovered golf and enjoyed playing several times a week with friends. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and loved to share his bounty with friends.Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Mays and Flynn Brown, and sisters, Carolyn and LaNita Willams.He is survived by his wife, Linda; his son, Bart Brown (Maureen) of Lynn Haven, FL; and his daughter, Allison Pelham of Pensacola, FL; along with siblings Geraldine Waldrop, Rupert Brown (Cindy), and Lehman Brown (Sharon) and sister-in-law, Mina Brown. He is also survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.His family is grateful for the loving care given to him by Hertie Griffith and Ruby Goodwin.Ronald was a member of Goodwater Baptist Church, where his services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, with visitation at 1:00 PM and funeral services at 2:00 PM.
