Cecil Pugh Obituary

Cecil Lavaughn Pugh - a 96 year-old native of Coffeeville, Alabama and longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away at his home on Sunday, April 23, 2023. Mr. Pugh was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corps (U. S. Air Force), having attained the rank of Captain. He graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois, and upon graduation established his own advertising agency in Mobile, serving many prominent Mobile businesses over a 56 year period. Mr. Pugh was a member of a local mystic society and two antique automobile clubs and enjoyed model railroading and woodworking. Mr. Pugh was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene B. Pugh and Lillian Matthews Pugh; brother, Jerrol Pugh; sister, Maggie Retha Pugh; and beloved wife, Virginia Anne Nichols Pugh. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Pugh and Virginia Tidwell (Scott); granddaughter, Laura Anne Tidwell Manasco (James); other relatives and friends. Graveside services and interment will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 9 a. m.
