Cecil Edwin Massie, 66, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Born September 20, 1955 in Mullens, WV, he was the son of the late Cecil Cox and Audrey Griffith Massie. Cecil worked for thirty-three years at Pinnacle Mine in Pineville and was a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed hunting and working on his backhoe but most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Lucy Lafferty and three brothers, Will Massie, Dean Massie and Bill Massie. Cecil is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Nancy Green Massie; two children, Heather Martin and husband Mark and Hollie Massie; four grandchildren, Dakota Massie Fortner, Jordan Massie, Destiny Massie Bailey and Harmony Massie; three brothers, Bob Massie, Mike Massie and Gene Massie; special friends, Eugene Monk and Roger Clay; and the countless men and women he worked with in the mines.
