Cecil Calvert Obituary

Cecil Wayne Calvert, 90, of Scottsville, KY passed away Friday, April 7, 2023 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of Allen County Board of Education, a former principal in Muhlenberg County, former teacher in the Jefferson County School System, a famer, a gentleman and a member of New Life Fellowship Church and Gideon's International. He was a son of the late James Bransford Calvert and Lela Belle Jones Calvert and husband of the late Sue Turner Calvert. He is survived by 2 sons: Joey Wayne Calvert and Mark Jay Calvert, both of Scottsville, KY; 2 daughters: Shannon Warren and Leanne Calvert-Barnes and husband, Joseph, all of Scottsville, KY; 1 sister: Terry Bratcher, Columbia, KY; 6 grandchildren: Miranda Cardona (Luis); Bevan Warren, Taylor Gustafson, Harrsion Hurd, Spencer Hurd and Angel Robinson; 1 great grandchild: Abigail Nava-Warren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 brother: James Jr. Calvert and 1 sister: Helen Van Houten. There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Goad Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Gideons.
